Hopefully he continues the production he had with the Padres. He's one former Cardinals' outfielder on the Cubs I will root for.

And not alternating leagues like before the All Star crap. Best team gets home field, what a crazy concept that no other sports have ever done! Ugh haha. About time.

Before they gave W.S. home field advantage to the league that won the All Star game, it just alternated between AL and NL each year.

From 1925-2002, it alternated each year between NL and AL.

Prior to 1925, the location of game 7 was determined via coin toss.

They should decide home field advantage with a game of Rocket League.

Yeah right, just imagine all the hidden ball tricks and mound charging that can happen now.

I enjoyed the All Star game plenty before the stipulation. Guarantee there's always a ton of guys on either team who couldn't care less if their league got home field since plenty of them know they won't be playing in the world series. It's not like the stipulation ever made it feel anything remotely like a playoff game or something. If anything, interleague has diluted the interest of seeing matchups between players from the opposite leagues.

Now the home run derby, that is hard for me to sit through. Although the time limit instead of outs improved it dramatically.

I'm pretty happy with the return for a dude who probably wasnt making the rotation and can't pitch in a big game to save his life.

Didn't realize there was such hate for him. He was a good solid pitcher when healthy. I think this past year he just wore out. I was interested to see what he did and honestly much rather him on the mound than Wacha.

    The rivalry is back on

I like the trade for ATL -- gave up 3 low ceiling prospects for a chance at a buy low, sell high guy at the deadline.

Garcia has been on a downward march since the 2013 season, the team should of gotten rid of him a season or two ago.

Then again, so has Wacha 2014 and on.

To me he is a more consistent pitcher than Wacha ever has and I think he could bring in a bigger haul from the right team where as this was the most Cardinals deal ever. This is like the white bread deal of the season.

I'll take prospects over a guy who's past his prime and isn't getting any better.

My thoughts too, now it's just pointless again.

I still hate the new HR Derby format though

Surely that's the last straw right?
