Well deserved!

 

Naquin was a lock to win ROY back in mid to late July and then his season completely nose-dived. At one point, he was hitting like .333 near the end of July and finished in the .290s. Still very respectable for a rookie, but pretty disappointing last 2 months. Looked lost in the playoffs too.

All that said, the guy wasn't even expected to make the team this year, so I'll take it - as an Indians fan.

 

A lot of this can be said for Mazara too.

Although he'll probably be playing for the White Sox next season

 

Always gonna be happy for Dave Roberts. That man has a permanent free ride in Boston.

 

Since Ortiz retired, Bronson Arroyo is the only active member of the 2004 World Series team. Who would've thought?

 

Good lord. Being old sucks.

 

What team is he on? Haven't heard his name in years. Also makes sense since that team was a very veteran team.

 

He was in the Nationals organization, but spent the whole season in extended spring training/GCL rehabbing a shoulder injury.

 

Sanchez was impressive, but he had a big downturn in production during the last couple weeks. Mazara and Naquin were decent, nothing spectacular. Fulmer had some garbage outings at the end there.

 

J.D. Martinez to the Giants please.

 

I mean he's still a rookie, he had a big slump of like 1 for 23 or something after his first 11 homers and then he got another hot streak going. Fulmer and Sanchez not finishing strong (I imagine neither player has played continually this far into a season before) doesn't really mean anything. To have two rookies with such impressive showings doesn't seem weak to me.

 

Team-specific blogs are hard to read in the offseason and especially with this free agency crop. The Yankees should think about signing Jason Hammel? Just... MEH lol.

 

Max Scherzer wins NL Cy Young. I was really hoping for Hendricks.

 

Max deserved it. KB should win MVP though. That will be only one I'd be salty about not winning.

It was. AL starting pitching was mostly trash.

Hate to agree with Kate Upton but Verlander getting left off two ballots is atrocious.
