As some one who lives in Chicago, I'm blown away by this every day.

It makes me laugh how sensitive some American sports fans are about banter/ribbing from opposing fans. Don't ever visit a football game in Europe if you can't handle what's being thrown around at a baseball game.

I mean there's shit fan bases in every sport, and there enough jabroni Cubs fans to where I avoided Wrigleyville on game days like the plague when I lived and still do go downtown, but anyone who can afford to go to an away Cubs playoff game, in San Francisco no less, should not represent the massive fan base

I take shit from Giants fans everyday. I was in Walmart and some dude stopped me since I was wearing my Dodgers hat and was like "I hope you guys lose tonight" and proceeded to call kershaw a trash pitcher.

People also constantly mention blah blah blah dodgers payroll blah blah blah 3 rings.

I literally just brush it off because it's just a sport and it's meaningless fun.

I expect it at football games. Wouldn't even think twice about it. Baseball
I more-so expect it when I go to college (American) football games, and even NFL. It's different with Baseball, or at least with my experiences.

It's bizarre to see Rich Hill selected as the started for this game. Sure he's had a resurgence... But really? Rich Hill?

Yeah, why should Rich "202 ERA+ over his last 24 starts" Hill start an important game? Mind-boggling, really.

So they may as well ride his hot streak...

I can't even imagine how the conversation would go.

"Hey, you know that pitcher we traded for at the deadline who has been great for the last year? Yeah, that guy. Well, he had a shitty 2009, so maybe we shouldn't throw him today, in the midst of a great year long stretch. I just don't want to see 2009 Rich Hill, yknow, even though he's been really really good lately... yknow"

Yeah of course the Dodgers should start with Hill because he has been really good with the Dodgers.

If he starts to show sign of wear and tear, just switch to Urias for a few innings followed by Stripling and then use the bullpen.

I'm just saying that it's unusual to not see a high profile type starter starting for a team with a massive payroll.

I heard they may be "bullpening" it today. Get 3 or 4 solid from Hill, a few from Urias, etc etc. I'd be a fan of that. I really really really want to see Urias.

I mean Urias and Hill are your options. Even if their stats were even (they're not, Hill's are much better) you ask the veteran, not a 20 year old rookie to start a deciding game on the road. Hill is a no brainer.

That's basically all we need to do.

If they go Hill - Urias - Stripling - Blanton - Jansen is the perfect way to close out the season in a do or die game.

I love Urias. His potential is unreal especially after his rough few first starts he started to get into a groove and closed out the season nicely.

like I get where people consistently think the Dodgers should be this powerhouse with pitching because of the payroll but it's different.

Friedman has used his analytics team to create this amazing bullpen so he doesn't have to rely on high profile pitchers.. The Dodgers basically related on Kershaw, Maeda(Hill in later half) and a rotating cast of triple A or bullpen pitchers.

That's Urias move and I think he picked off 6 people during the regular season and no balk call.
