Also at this point, my money is on the Cubs to win it. Why? Because fuck the Giants and their dumb even year bullshit. I'd rather my team's sworn rivals get a title than sitting through another offseason of Giants fan gloating.

 

If the Giants win I quit baseball

 

I'm not sure I could ever quit it but a hiatus of a couple years just might be in order if that happens.

 

Hopefully Panda robbed them of their even year magic

 

Like I know there's Giants fans on here and they are good folk but my god, did that fanbase turn insufferable after those wins. Like last season, I straight up saw fans blame their team's performance on it just being "an odd year". That's why the Giants need to lose, I cannot personally put up with that anymore. Plus, do you really want to see the Giants get their fourth title in a decade?

Alright, now that's out of my system. Man, that felt good to get that off my chest.

 

It's why the logical winner is the Rangers.

If I was a giants fan I would be super not down with taking shit from a cards fan about a fanbase as a whole being smug

For what it's worth, I don't even like Cards fans either. I am an unbiased hater of fanbases.

All I want to do is be a smug asshole to White Sox fans for once in my life. Is that so much to ask? I don't even know any true Cardinals fans to mess with and even so they've won too much recently to even have an supportive argument lol

 

I've never seen a championship between the 3 teams I support and I was so close this summer with the sharks.

basically sports are a disappointment for me.

 

I hope you guys get to have that, the Cubs are a hell of a team and they deserve a ring.

 

I literally skipped school in 6th grade to avoid being around all of the White Sox fans after they won the WS in 2005. I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago, so I was outnumbered in terms of fandom.

Haha yeah I'm from the south suburbs as well, it was hell around here with the hometown love since Buerhle lived in my town when they won (despite being on the Sox is still one of my all time favorite players) and my dad being Sox fan. I was too immature at the time to even be happy for him though, they waited a long ass time too.

Same! Growing up the Rangers had good teams but got no respect....oh wait they still don't really haha.

who im rooting for tonight in order and why:

1. a meteor (figuratively) hits the stadium (AL EAST)
2. the blue jays (for the fights)
3. the orioles (i wouldnt be too mad. have some friends who are fans)

 

also im rooting for the game to be ended because all players got knocked out in a bench clearer

 

MLB should just allow fights to be a part of the game like hockey has it, don't let it go too overboard but let two dudes hash it the fuck out on the field. It'd make games so much more exciting to sit through.

 

My wife has always said baseball should be full contact.

 

I've always had some level of respect for individual Sox players, like Konerko, Buehrle, Ordonez, but the White Sox are the only team and fan base that I've ever felt real hatred for, most likely as a result of being immersed in them. My dad is a Sox fan, we had some season tickets growing up, so I went to more Sox games than Cubs, and my step-sister worked front office for the Sox doing graphic design during the mid 00s (she has a World Series ring ffs), so the Sox were everywhere. But they never came close to capturing my attention like the Cubs did -- the history, team colors, Sammy Sosa in 98, Kerry Wood, etc.

 

I was expecting a glorious batflip from Bautista but it didn't happen.
