Arietta is worrying me. No one's cutting it lately to get that third spot in the playoff rotation

Jake's problem really seems to be control. His batting average against is lowest in the league at .185, which is definitely helped by the all-time great Cubs defense, but also speaks to just how hard he is to hit. He has some of the best stuff in the entire league. I'm not sure what happened between last year and this year with his control, but it's so off. The movement is there, the placement is not.

He's also got the lowest OPS allowed in all of baseball. He's fifth in soft contract %. He's being killed by his walks :concerned:

I still love Jake and trust him in the playoffs. If he's rolls through the first four innings as he seems to do, then has trouble with his command in the 5th or 6th (as it seems to happen), maybe have a quick hook and bring in Montgomery or Hammel or someone? I'd be a fan of that.

if we make the playoffs our rotation will be
    1) Syndergaard
    2) Colon
    3) Seth Lugo
    4) Robet Gsellman

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Girardi gets way more shit than he deserves and I always defend him but this Red Sox series is the worst pitching staff management I think I've ever seen.

Why are we pitching to Hanley ever. Like this should be the Cubs treatment to Harper.

This is currently Hanley's third-highest HR total in his career. One more homer and it's tied for second.

And this is a man with three top-10 MVP finishes. Just an insane run.

Losing Salazar wasn't that big of a blow considering the guy had been awful/injured since all-star break (never won a game after July) and the Indians still played well in spite of it. Losing Carrasco sucks, but really, other than Kluber, the starting pitching has been a huge question mark for the past few months. Carrasco, Bauer, Tomlin has been extremely inconsistent for a long time now, yet the Indians continue to fight through it and win games. Their bullpen is also one of the strongest in the league now, whereas earlier this year it was the biggest weakest link on the team.

Sounds crazy, but as a die-hard Indians fan, I don't think it's as big as a blow as most people are making it out to be. Playoffs you only need a 3-man rotation so you figure Kluber, Bauer and Tomlin and with more days off in the playoffs, bullpen should be well rested and Miller/Allen/Otero are fully capable of pitching multiple innings when needed.

I hope I get to see this Sox outfield together for years and years.

I'm not saying they're Rice/Lynn/Evans, but how many teams get lightning that strikes like that twice.
