Hamels vetoed a trade to Houston last year.

Forgot to mention this but the other day I read that the player to be named later in the lucroy deal could be a legit player but they have to wait to renegotiate because they didn't finish ironing that out by the deadline? Lol weird

It was on mlbtraderumors a day or two ago

 

Sounds like it'll probably be a minor league middle infielder. They wanted to see how he does the rest of the year and make sure he's healthy or something

His offense is pretty shot. Even if he's among the top catchers statistically. But I don't mind him sticking around since NY probably won't compete. McCann, Tony Pena and Girardi aren't a bad trio of catchers for Gary Sanchez to learn from.

Most veto deals are basically a player telling his team he is going to exercise his veto if he is going to get traded to that team. So talks have happened and a general deal probably has worked out but the player told
Them he will veto so nothing is ever finalized. You hear that a lot in trade rumors.

Feels weird to me that MLB is promoting the Yankees game on Friday as A-Rod's final MLB game. He didn't retire and if any team gives him a chance you gotta think he'll take it. Wishful thinking on their part I guess?
