Indians are definitely capitalizing on the rest of the Central being bad. I'm glad they are going for it we'll just have to see if it actually pays off.

I guess the explains why the Indians didnt go after Smith in the Lucroy deal as well. Do the Indians really have the offense to carry them far in the postseason though? I havent payed much attention to them this season.

 

Also anyone else see that the Padres would be able to void Olivera's contract if he goes to jail for the domestic violence case against him? So they essentially offloaded Kemp to the Braves in an exchange of bad contracts hoping he goes to jail and they free up the money. Seems pretty sketchy.

I don't think they're banking on Olivera going to jail. I think they just wanted to offload as much of the Kemp contract as possible and view the Olivera contract as a sunk cost.
