I personally dont find it spoiled but I'm also not a Yankees fan. I dont think there's anything wrong with using common sense when taking into account the state of your team. When youre an old boring team that cant make a run and need to refuel the checkbook it makes sense to move guys and speed up the rebuild. I dont understand the logic of "lets make a pointless playoff push when half these guys are gone or retiring and we can expedite the rebuild" but I understand the opposite argument to some extent. Its just knowing you might be garbage for the next 2-5yrs afterward, meh.

 

Gonna have to check the base paths for tread marks after Kiermaier stretched that single into a hard double. Beltran must've forgotten who was running.

 

Beltran looks lazy in the outfield a lot. One more reason I want A-Rod cut so Beltran can just hit.

It blows my mind Carlos Beltran still plays. Does he have a legit HOF case? He lines up pretty well in comparison to guys like Jim Rice and Andre Dawson.

 

I thought it was ridiculous when people made a case for him the last few years but he's got the numbers. I feel like he has that sort of low profile like Adrian Beltre has. I'm guessing Beltran will get in eventually. At worst by veteran's committee.

sounds like we're keeping Zimmer/Frazier at least

piecing together tweets seems to indicate it may end up being Mejia/Sheffield/Yu-Cheng Chang/Greg Allen, which I am very fine with. Mejia's the only one that would really hurt to lose.

 

I'm not super familiar with Cleveland's farm or anything, but that seems like a steal to get Lucroy without moving either Zimmer or Frazier

 

It's not a bad package by any means. You don't see Mejia in the top 100 most places, but most have him as a top 5 catcher in the minors. Sheffield, if included, is a top 100 guy with #2 starter potential. Cheng and Allen are solid all-around guys at SS and CF, respectively. Tribe has a great system right now.

Now, if it ended up being someone lesser than Sheffield, like Clevinger or McKenzie (both pitchers), I'd say absolute steal by the Tribe. Tribe has a such a surplus of pitching and OFs in the minors right now.

 

McKenzie > Sheffield pretty easily for me and I think Clevinger and Sheffield are a wash, especially considering level.

 

True. I like both, but I have no qualms about giving up Clevinger though. I've never been very high on him.

It would be a real kick in the teeth if Lucroy ends up vetoing the trade.
