Coppy was in the Braves booth last night talking about how the Braves are gonna be ready to compete in 2017. Umm. Ok. Suurrre.

 

Tyrell Jenkins pitched great tonight. He got rocked at Coors last week, but overall I've been impressed with him. Keep this guy in the rotation.

well i mean, trade Neil Walker, trade Bartolo Colon...hmm that's about it. i'd definitely trade Neil Walker. i know you won't get too much for him, but something is better than nothing.

trading colon would be great too but i think the mets legit dont have anyone else in the farm system to even help them limp to the end of the season.

Neil Walker would be my big chip...or granderson if someone would take him

The common belief was they intentionally tanked this season with the thought of shedding payroll now, and then go into next season at the new stadium to get more fans in, and spend money to bring a winning team to it. Whether they can get enough FA to sign to compete with Mets/Nats remains to be seen.

 

A few years ago you could place a bet of whether their would be a run in the first inning. Made some money on that. Not sure if that ones still out there in gambling land

 

I feel like we're still gonna get someone big with all this work being reported, hopefully it'll be Sale. Knowing JD he'll make it happen

I forgot about him. I could definitely see it happening and we'd likely not have to give up much but I still feel something bigger is brewing

 

Idk I just read Milwaukee might wait to trade Lucroy. There's like 20 other guys who had a high chance of being traded, only two out of them have been traded. Shrug.

 

The Astros need to get one of the Sox arms or a bat (even with Gurriel joining the team in August)

i've seen Rich Hill rumored and that would be meh

 

The FA pool this coming offseason isn't even that good. They need to throw every dollar bill they have at Harper in a few years.

Chapman gets a great haul, Melancon gets pocket change lol sounds about right

 

Melancon is a rental, and it could be the market correcting itself. Cubs might have overpaid and the Nats might have underpaid, but if no one else was interested in Melancon you cant blame the Pirates for taking it.

 

I would've just not traded him and went for the playoffs, especially if Rosenthal said they're not done and are going to trade for a starting pitcher now (potentially from the Rays). That being said, the fact that they opted for two random guys is either genius or as blah as interpreted. If rivero is close to what melancon brought in their bullpen it'll have been a fine deal.
