Hahah no way. Tbh I've just been busier with work lately, and talking shit to cwhit in my fantasy league.

I usually just post in the sports forum, and a) sports are mostly dormant right now and b) the braves aren't worth any posts

This deadline is such garbage so far. 80% of the guys we thought might be moved wont be. We're two days away and only one major player out of the 10+ everyone expected to be traded actually has been traded lol

 

Well, the Stop - Rondon - Chapman 7th-8th-9th was alive and real last night. Feeling good about the post season.

 

That's kind of how it is every year though, ain't it? Especially in the NBA too. Trade deadlines are mostly all rumors.

 

No. Last year had wayyy more deals, this year it's just been chapman and a nobody like Melvin uptown. It's way different in baseball, I'm also an avid NBA fan but generally players aren't traded at the deadline in basketball because teams value their picks a lot as where baseball has tons of prospect farms you can trade for guys. For a baseball team to not trade a guy for a prospect or two that they don't plan on keeping is not really the way to go, especially if they aren't even competing for a playoff seed. You're basically letting a guy go for nothing. Basketball doesn't have the same assets unless you're a team that has a ton of extra picks and good contracts, that's what teams want in return.

 

Padres just got Naylor for cashner and Colin rea wow... I'm really glad I didn't draft Naylor to my farm team this year lol nice prospect for SD though.

Naylor projects as a top DH cause he's apparently slow as a slowpoke but hits hard as fuh. Makes sense the Marlins picked him that high for someone with no position.

The headline on the back of the New York Post this morning was a picture of Familia and the words "Deja Blew" The Metsies are trying to give me a heart attack this season. My prediction at this point is they might make the wild card. I think this season has been a huge World Series hangover for them.

 

"The Metsies" is probably my new favorite phrase now.

 

I feel like the Marlins shouldn't be allowed to make trades at this point. (But actually, please keep making these kind of trades)

So the marlins gave up waste of life Jared cosart, top prospect josh Naylor, top 5 system pitcher Luis Castillo, and injured possible stud reliever Carter Capps for two padres pitchers who had a 4. Era or higher.

 

A top 5 prospect in the Marlins system barely cracks the top 15 in another teams system. Dont get caught up in where they rank in a system, look at the actual scouting reports and numbers they post.

 

okay, the marlins trade was bad, but this is just terrible

 

I understand that, I've read up on him and he looks sneaky good (even if he becomes a reliever). I know its a prospect but the padres farm is also not good, its a good deal for them.
