Its hard because aces are hard to come by and they dont have one anywhere. They'll still have decent depth regardless but they don't nearly have the crazy depth the cubs have. The cubs are actually super cheap (when it comes to trading) but you cant blame them considering they just became a contender using young prospects.

I was under the impression that the starting pitcher had a lot of discretion regarding jersey choice for the day, at least for the Cubs. I remember hearing this back when we had Carlos Zambrano, who had a particular affinity for the blue alternates that the Cubs wear. I think Jake Arrieta does as well since his opening day start versus the Angels in Anaheim, his no hitter vs. the Dodgers, and his no hitter vs. the Reds were all with the blue alternates.

Pitchers are much more picky and particular about things than other players when it comes to comfort. While his outburst of cutting the jerseys was uncalled for, I can't imagine why the White Sox would be so persistent in forcing him to wear a jersey he didn't like.

Looks like the Jersey was for a promo that has been on the schedule all year

 

Can't imagine why that couldn't have been worked around. Moving Sale back a day would have been remarkably easy and wouldn't have resulted in this mockery.
