Nobody is saying to suspend him but if he did say that I'd at least like us to acknowledge it isn't okay.

If he did say it then its definitely not okay, but there's no real evidence that he has said it other than some experts on the internet.

 

Lol. I love Bryce Harper and didn't say anything about suspending him. He should be if he used the word but I don't claim to have evidence that he did, it just looks that way (pretty fckin clearly tho) to me. He's going to get suspended and fined for being on the field after being ejected and yelling in the umps face like that anyway.

Y'all so sensitive. "Looks like Bryce Harper used a horrible slur" is met with extreme defensiveness and veiled accusations of the dreaded SJWism. Why did that put you in such a defensive mindset? Weird.

I think 95% of the people on this site have always acknowledged that f** isn't acceptable. I don't think it is. It's just jumping to that conclusion without audio is a leap. That video doesn't conclusively show f** to me. It could be the unacceptable word. It could be something else. We just do not know at this point. I'm a Harper fan so I acknowledge I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and I know those that hate his guts are gonna leap to the worst. Idk.

it's a leap to think that a professional sports player already yelling in an umpire's faced might've used a word that most people (especially in hypermasculine environments) see no problem with? even when coupled with a video that shows it's possible? alright

 

Of course it's possible.

 

The fact we are debating if a guy said or didn't say a word, based on whether or not he closed his jaw and the force with which he did or didn't do so, is the internet at its finest.

I don't really see an issue with discussing it. No one is saying "100% he said that word, never talk about him again ban him forever", but people are also aware that he possibly did say it (it even looks like he did). It just feels weird to me that some people are taking the "lol don't talk about it" mentality.

 

There is absolutely no problem with discussing it, or anybody giving their opinion. That's what this forum is for. People can't have an open-minded discussion when they already have a preconceived notion of what they think probably happened.

Here's my opinion. It looks like he said the word, but it could have been several more words said with the exact same lip gesture, so I'm not going to form any conclusion on it. If he said that word, then it should be known that he said it, and shamed.
