I just went full gossip mode when Britney was thanking the backup dancers

and no mention of g eazy so that got me like emoji thinking face even though she probably will thank him another day.

 

just imaging a tinashe/brit performance at vma makes me sad because I never knew how badly I wanted that.

Bebe tweeted this when Britney sang her part with g easy but i don't get why Bebe couldn't sing her part

 

That was my first thought when I heard that song start because that's really her song, too and it helped a lot of people learn her name. I've been following her since the Black Cards and I feel like to have her biggest hit performed by someone else (even though that someone else is a legend!!) must've been really weird at least.

 

I prefer more or less every song from Anti over BBHMM, it's easily her best album

 

Serena wasn't in Hotline Bling.

 

Disagree with the following things said ITT after I went to bed:
-BBHMM is great but is not better than, say "Higher" or "Work" or "Needed Me"
- beyonce performing on the night Rihanna wins the vanguard award is not "shade" being thrown by MTV, that's not how it works
-People got so upset over the "closer" performance on Twitter and while the guy has bad pipes it ain't like Halsey is the second coming of Arethra lmao.
-G-Eazy is a parody drake Twitter account come to life

There was more but those things stuck out

 

I thought the chainsmokers guy sang fine.

 

Man, that Ariana song sounded like shit. Way too much going on.

the other thing i disagreed with was the distaste directed towards key and peele, who are some of the sharpest comedic minds of the last few years even if this task was a bit flat (i thought it was funny at several points)

 

I like how Kanye didn't conform to the "crazy black dude" thing MTV actually wanted from him. Then, I saw an excerpt of the video and was reminded of why he is gross.

 

I laughed reallyyyyy hard.

 

I thought he sang fine? The male vox part for the song doesn't really need an actual vocalist to sing. Just someone who can hold a tune, which I think he did.

 

also probably not a band who should be criticizing a lackluster singing voice, hah.

 

Poor Yahoo tried to write a recap that covered the high and low points of the show and this list is about all they could come up with.

Best: Beyoncé (broken out into about 5 different blurbs)
Worst: literally everything else

 

I'm still waiting for who won best rock video. This years show was just fucking stupid. I mean Beyonce was on fire and Rihanna was amazing, the rest of it sucked. we need to get back to the real program here and have real hosts and awards given out. I am pissed.

i just went on there website and its not there. this is so confusing.

 

I'm just honestly done with this fucking award show. Its been terrible the last few years. If they can get their heads out of their asses and give me a show format that was like the 1999 VMA's I'll be happy.

 

Not sure what you were expecting to happen with 5 pop bands nominated for best rock video

 

Well at 32 years old and as someone who has been watching this show since they were about 5 years old, I'd expect a rock band to win Best Rock Video. So what I am saying is that MTV is crap.
