I thought it always complimented them by drawing the fact that they're not great dancers away from the singers. Kinda like decoration.

Starting tomorrow I only work out to future on my way to a gold medal in 2020.

 

To me it just draws attention to the bad dancer. Like if it had just been Rihanna I prob wouldn't have noticed but watching the dancers beside her made her shortcomings glaring
