As a New Jersey Devils fan I will say this: Larsson is not an offensive defenseman by any stretch of the imagination, but what he is a shut-down defender. Absolutely one of the best in the league, but is very underrated because he plays in a small market. Larsson could really help improve the Oiler defense. With that being said, a one-to-one straight up deal for a bona-fide points 'putter-upper' when such players are at premium in this league is a complete steal for the Devils. I'm pumped. We're about one free-agent signing away from becoming a contender. Not a one or two seed type of team, but a team that not many would want to face in the playoffs, especially with their defense and brick wall, Schneider.

 

You gotta think that Drai+4th <---> Subban rumour was legit now. If that was actually on the table and Chia declined then, just... fuck me, man.

I'm really trying to be patient but god damn is it hard.

Flyers aren't going to do much at all this offseason outside of probably resign Brayden Schenn but I think next Summer is when they jump into the pool.

Another season of very bland mediocrity ahead.

 

Their defense has always been good enough to compete. Sure, we're not getting much scoring from our back six, but they can shut-down some of the best in the league.
