Local reporter talked to Francis who pretty much shut the door on E. Staal returning. I was admittedly on board with the idea when he was traded off, but after his performance in NY and the available targets this season I'm pretty happy we are moving on.

Really like that Seth Jones deal. Really up against the cap now, as if they weren't already. Gonna be hard to get much more cap room unless the ownership does what they have not been a fan of since Commodore and buy some folks out. Would welcome a Hartnell trade. He didn't have to waive his NTC to come here and he did. Played awesome for us, so I would like to do right by him.

 

Seth Jones deal is great especially because he did it before Ekblad/Trouba/Lindhold got their deals done so he could have even got more when they signed.

 

That's sort of hilarious, though.

 

Plz let this happen so we can't resign Weise.

Yeah even if he does sign here, no chance we hand him the C on day 1.

Definitely not day 1, but he'd eventually be Toronto's captain in the long run.
