Getting rid of Seabrook's contract would be glorious even if we'd have to throw in Schmaltz, DeBrincat, Hartman, or other good young forwards and prospects. However, that entails Seabrook waving his full NMC.

I think it's been known that it would be in a new arena though, but they might have to play in key arena until it was done so... maybe longer but pretty sure it'll happen by the time the new one is done

 

Hard to blame him, the arena politics here at such a shit show. The city has a golden offer on the table to build a brand new arena down in the SoDo district (where the Seahawks/Mariners play) with zero public funds needed but refuse to vacate one strip of road which currently is nothing more than a piss alley for drunks after games and the booming homeless population here which would then allow shovels to hit the dirt.

Instead the city and this shithead Mayor (who is out in November, thank Christ) keeps trying to shove the renovation of the god awful Key Arena down our throats which includes a ton of public funds and has dog shit transportation issues and very little parking.

The site Chris Hansen wants to build the SoDo arena is perfect and is literally right smack dab on the light rail line meanwhile the light rail service isn't coming to Queen Anne (where Key Arena is) until 2035 lol.

Oh well, I'll just keep making the trek up to Vancouver to see the Flyers every year and will have to be happy with the Seattle Thunderbirds which play about ten min from my house for the foreseeable future.

Don't think I want anyone on that list. Ideally I'd like a one-year for a middle six center to bridge gap between Spooner and JFK (hello, Joe Thornton), and I'd bee ok with Stafford on the cheap, but I'm surprisingly expecting Sweeney to be reasonable
