I believe he will start the season in the minors

I think Elias will be back and the Devils are stacked at LW depth-wise. He could use some more seasoning anyways....after his hot start, he really hit a wall

 

I anxious to see what Tim Murray has up his sleeve for draft day, after pulling the trigger on the O'Reilly trade right off the bat last year.

We have plenty of picks and a few prospects to offer in a trade for a RW. This scenario still leaves plenty of cap.

Rask would really have to step up next year, but I think he's capable. That second line was awesome together this past season so keeping them together is ideal. And that third line has serious potential. Could be a playoff team if the goaltending is decent.

I never really follow what happens in the offseason, so I might not contribute much to the thread until October. Will still check it out from time to time.

 

Hopes for the offseason:

-Sign Krug, Extend Marchand. ASAP.

-Find takers for Hayes, Seidenberg, and McQuaid. Hayes and McQuaid can probably be taken by a cap floor team, but we'll probably have to eat salary on Seids.

-Ideally I would like Loui over Okposo, but we have a deficiency at the right side. If they resign Loui, cool. If they sign Vesey, maybe he can play off wing? Okposo fits the Horton/Iginla profile, so I'd guess him and Krejci would click.

-Use Spooner in a trade for defensive help, perhaps even Vatrano if Marchy/Loui get locked up, but I'd prefer not to.

-I would like Demers or Campbell if possible. I'd even take Stempniak or Kelly for depth if they could be had for cheap.

Ideally, the lineup will look like:

Eriksson - Krejci - ??? (maybe Vesey lol)
Beleskey - Czarnik - ???
Vatrano - Acciari - Connolly

The hot dog story is believable and that's why it's awesome.

 

Ya, I don't think anyone would do that. If he did I wouldn't completely blame him, the media destroyed him far too often when he was there. You never know with athletes these days that's why I wasn't sure.
