Yeah, it was rough. He kept trying to teach through it but you could tell he was a wreck. I think that's one reason why he took the job with the Jets -- to get out of Toronto.

Tim Murray today, when Stamkos was mentioned at the little pre draft shindig for Buffalo media, said something along the lines if they hadn't even discussed it internally yet

Cap floor at $54

Canes are currently at ~$47m. After resigning Rask and Murphy we will still be about $3m below the cap floor.

So, we could offer Okposo something like $6.75m over 6 years and still be at ~$59m.

That team with about $14m-15m remaining is solid.

We also have two 1st rounders in the draft to keep stocking up on prospects.

And we still have flexibility to ultimately upgrade at goaltender which is obviously the biggest weak spot.

(But we won't sign Okposo so I shouldn't get my hopes up).
