Apparently Vinny Lecavalier is officially retiring today.

 

How familiar, if at all, are you with Kevin O'Donnell? He's a Tampa sports writer and a short while ago said Calgary was closing in on Bishop.

 

He also said this so I'm not sure he knows that Stamkos is a UFA.

 

That reads more like wishful thinking than any kind of actual reporting.

 

I think he's saying TB could try to make a move for #1 pick to make up for losing Stamkos in FA. Not trade Stamkos for #1.

Although the amount of assets they'd have to give up would be just as big of a loss as Stamkos so it's still a dumb thing to say.

 

Never heard of him, he's not one of the reporters I follow for Lightning info and I think he's a local TV sports guy so I don't wanna put too much stock in what he says but then I remembered the whole Boomer Esiason breaking the Marty to the Rangers rumor and not believing that til it actually happened.

 

Man, if Bishop is available I'd definitely go after him if I were Francis. Would be amazing to have an actual #1 goalie behind our defense.

 

I'd imagine bishop would cost a lot more to trade for than someone like maf

 

Actual #1 goalie til he gets injured right before or in the playoffs. AGAIN. I love Bishop, want him to stay, appreciate everything he's done for the team but 3 seasons in a row of poorly timed injuries makes me open to him being moved and handing over the goal to Vasy.

@TBTimes_JSmith: Yzerman has said there's "absolutely" a chance TB opens year with Bishop + Vasilevskiy. Sure he'd listen. But deal would have to make sense

 

Ah yeah I was taking it as a straight up swap for Stamkos which seemed silly.

 

I'm still over here waiting to see which Sharks player is getting traded. I know it's ether going to be Wingels or Nieto so I don't expect much back but it sucks losing one of those two.

 

The NHL should expand every other year if this is what happens in the off season.

 

Rangers are gonna get Fowler for like Dylan Mcilrath and a 2nd, arent they

 

Expansion/cap not going up and this sport might have the most exciting offseason ever.

Schedules are out. Now I gotta figure out which arenas to cross off my list this season, definitely wanna see a game in Dallas, St Louis and Chicago this year. Hoping to someday be able to swing a trip up to Canada to hit up all the arenas there even if the Lightning aren't playing.
