Uh did I miss where the Seahawks released him? They hold his rights?

 

I'm guessing they agreed to a deal of some kind? Who knows

 

How can he agree to terms before the Seahawks make a decision? Obviously they're going to trade/release him but how is this even possible?

 

I mean yeah i'm sure he hasn't signed a contract yet with the Raiders, but by announcing everything isn't that like tampering or collusion or something lol

 

I think the Seahawks gave permission for the negotiation to happen

It's like how before Romo retired, Jerry gave teams permission to interview Romo about contract specifics, aka what the terms would be if he were to be traded to the team

 

Before he decided he didn't want to play special teams for Dustin

Yep. They let him work out a deal, with the knowledge that then the Raiders could discuss trade terms, etc.

Its actually smart for Seattle to do, because Oakland has spent all that time negotiating, they'll be willing to pay a little more in a trade to not see that wasted. Compared to agreeing on compensation, then seeing what Lynch's terms are

Julius Thomas, who is basically the tight end equivalent of Branden Albert, cost too much money so he was traded. Thomas, then took a paycut and Albert, who is earning the same amount that Thomas was, now wants a raise.
