New Jersey to me seems like the American Toronto. Everyone either says it's a shithole or they wouldn't live anywhere else. I've never met someone with a moderate opinion of Jersey. It's either complete shit or heaven.

It's weird what having "been to" a state means too. Like, I've only been to Southern CA so does it really count? If someone's been to NYC but not upstate does it count?

Believe it or not there are a lot of people from good northeast areas that purposely move to the south because they absolutely love it, mostly people I'm not friends with anymore lol

I love New Jersey...we have the best of everything

we have urban areas, we have rural areas, we have beaches, we have farmland, we have all 4 seasons, we have easy access to NYC and Philly

the only real "shitty" parts of it are along the Turnpike between Newark and the Meadowlands

Well we're only counting states, otherwise maybe. Upstate is another world here lol I'm not sure what is considered that in cali

north Jersey and south Jersey might as well be two completely different states, though. two completely different "mindsets"

right around Rutgers (New Brunswick) is what I'd call the dividing line

Favorite was probably California, I loved Los Angeles, but you know... this is coming from someone who doesn't haven't to deal with the traffic daily. I was visiting a buddy who lives there and we just day drank on the Santa Monica pier and he took me to some other cool smaller unique places there.

But for cultural enrichment probably New Mexico, I was in Albuquerque for the gathering of nations pow wow, it was nice to experience different history and arts surrounding Native Americans for a weekend.

I drove from LA to the Sacramento area, the middle of California is the weirdest place ever and I do not recommend

Camden is also basically on the border, it's the worst area barnone. Some people I know who worked warped tour said they heard shots fired when they were leaving the venue years ago. Do people even play there anymore?

I have a friend who lived in Alaska for years to train and he would probably smack you if he ever heard someone say they would love to live there lol watching games would be really annoying for you too
