The Mixon issue also solidifies that you can get away with anything in the Sports world if you have talent.

Ray Rice, for example, is seen on video punching his wife and gets blackballed (rightfully so). He was on the downside of his career and was likely washed up at the time, so that just sealed his fate.

Mixon on the other hand, also recorded on video punching a woman, is likely going to be a first round pick, smh.

 

I was watching Friday Night Tykes a couple days ago and a couple kids left practice early which means they shouldn't have been allowed to play the next game. But the next game was the playoffs and they were good so the coach let them play. And i'm sitting their watching the parents celebrate that their kids got away with breaking the rules like "wtf is wrong with you people. This is how it begins."

 

Oh they always pick the best restaurants in town.

Totally true: my day job, since every musician needs one of those, is at one of the oldest running fine dining restaurants in Jax, Chart House.

I have seen AJ Cann, I saw Gus Bradley eating one of his last meals on Jacksonville with his wife, (was not the time or place to try to talk to either of them), and Telvin Smith has come there to drink in the bar twice, and legit recognized me by face the second time because I did say something the first time he came in.

I've only worked there 6 months.

 

That series and parents like LaVar Ball are everything that is wrong with youth sports.

 

It's so awful. Like it makes me sad.

 

I think it's safe to say that most people recognize their stalkers.

Nah I only said two sentences the first time, just "I appreciate what you do on the field, one of my favorite Jags players. Looking forward to next season." Second time just him nodding and acknowledging me was enough. I don't need to try to be his friend or anything haha

 

Yeah i've seen a few Broncos players downtown at the bars, and at my old job I worked at it was the "official" bank of the Broncos and quite a few players would come in there cause it was really close to the practice facility. I saw Knowshon and Terrance Knighton on multiple occasions and Von Miller seemed to always come in when I wasn't there lol

Also related to Jax, I was there like 2 years ago and I stopped in the Hooters at Jacksonville Landing to use the restroom and I saw Allen Robinson at the bar lol

 

I hope Deandre Levy is healthy to play this season and someone signs him, would love to see a dude like that just destroy Mixon in the open field

 

If they go OJ Howard and then Joe Mixon I'm switching to ESports.

 

My face scrunched up when you said Hooters at Jacksonville Landing lol. It sucks that the Landing is positioned right by downtown and is everyone's main impression of the city. It's such a dead tourist trap.

I remember my family taking a boat downtown and no one being in the stores. Now the boat dock itself is rarely full lol

 

Yeah the Landing was deeeeeeeeeeeeead which sucks because the views are beautiful. Seems like Jax was going through a major overhaul when I was there, reminded me of old Denver. Lots of run-down sketchy buildings and a lot of buildings being worked on.
