Losing Burkhead sucks but the coaching staff is obsessed with making Jeremy Hill happen that he was never going to get playing time. Bengals are in for an awful season. They lost way too much talent and haven't done anything to replace it.

 

The way I read it: "We're not waiting on you if you're using us as leverage so if you leave we're going to spend this money elsewhere"

 

I doubt they spent it elsewhere, there's like no one out there lol

 

Could always be used on a Bell/Bryant/Shazier extension if they feel the need to put forward an extension before they're all FAs next year. Could be used on multiple depth players, you never know. All I know is I'm sure that they wouldn't like to start making other moves and then have Hightower accept and put them in a potentially bad situation.

Then Shazier, jesus christ they were examples haha. All I'm saying is: wanting to have that extra money available doesn't necessarily mean they're always doing it to sign a big name free agent.
