Fergusons a great guy, I totally get why he retired. He'll be greatly missed.

 

That was always been a possibility. I still thought he'd take the paycut and play a little bit longer.

Big loss on and off the field. Clears up a ton of cap space over the next two years though. He's one of the best NYJ draft picks since I've been alive. Sad to see him go, but it was only a matter of time.

How many guys can say they walked away from the game without ever missing a game?

Damn, I wonder if the team has known he'd been considering it or if they just found out.

 

I knew he was very vocal and upset with the NFL after seeing Concussion, but I didn't think he'd actually consider retirement until 2017.

Brick did a lot for this team. The 2006 draft with Ferguson and Mangold..those guys have been starters for the Jets for 10 years. That's a hell of a draft. It's too bad the rest of their draft since then have been mostly horrible.

 

Well apparently he was on the fence and when he saw the movie it helped shape his decision. Its better it happened now than in camp months later.
