Most people, who have great opinions on the "life" topics that interrupt sports, will never venture over here in fear that they will be dismissed for not being a sports fan. I understand that.

Restructuring Ferguson and releasing Giacomini should give them enough to bring back Fitzpatrick.

I hope Wilkerson stays, but I still think they're trying to move him before the draft.

 

I have friends who claim they'll stop supporting the jets if they get rid of him, idek what to tell them. Dee ford is the rare guy taken in the 1st round when the team has two pro bowlers at the position already who are making a lot of $.

 

I would be okay with Wilk being gone if signing Fitz isn't the ONLY thing we do with the extra money (I know there's not a whole lot you can do with it now this year but in the future)

Williams and Richardson can hold it down, can't spend that much money all on the D-line with the contracts they will command as well

 

He wants $50M guaranteed. The team would be able to do a lot with that money in future years. If we can hang on to him and re-sign Fitzpatrick, there's a chance we can agree to a longterm deal with him in 2017.

Next offseason is the one that Maccagnan has been prepping for.

The Jets are going to get some solid compensatory picks and they'll be tradable for the first time next draft. The cap is rising, so they'll have more flexibility. Ferguson, Marshall, Decker, Mangold, Harris, Gilchrist, and even Revis have little to no guaranteed money after this season.

Supposedly Lurie and Roseman didn't want fans to know they were hiring a head coach that had never called his own plays.

And on top of all of that, the Eagles have apparently been pushing to get a top pick to grab a QB.

So, come early May, they may be a team with 3 QBs (2 overpaid, 1 overdrafted), a head coach with no play calling experience, and no guarantee that he can work well with QBs.

Thank god they have Frank Reich, who can at least call plays. Dude may well end up the HC if this goes south
