    The rivalry is back on

Bad enough that, in late August, he was unemployed

And in a league where safeties are pretty weak at depth. There's a lot of teams that have only one viable starting safety and are patching together their FS or SS role.

ha, yeah, and the Steelers patching together their SS spot is what made me think of it

  7. If he does sign for Carolina I don't think he'd be a starter. All of our backups got hurt last week so he'd likely be depth.

The Jaguars are finally using Jonathan Cyprien correctly this year so that's encouraging.

We've been having awful bottom-tier free safeties so we kept having to use Cyprien back there - he's better but still not very good at playing the deep safety, his route recognition isn't very consistent, etc. But now that we've signed Gipson (and this has been confirmed in press conferences) Cyprien gets to line up closer to the line and do what he does best most the time - run and hit.

I do love his range and tackling ability. He gets there fast and makes some crazy diving tackles. Teams are going to have a hard time getting YAC or using typical running game matchups against our nickel packages. Telvin Smith, Myles Jack, Jalen Ramsey and Jonathan Cyprien all flying at you the second you touch the ball.

It was an awkward sack but I just don't think his body can handle being taken to the ground like that. One blindside hit and I think he's wheeled out of there. Hope not but yikes..

Dude's 36 and got hurt twice last year. Good thing he only represents $20mil in dead cap if he doesnt make it to next year

It's really unfortunate. Romo is the most exciting quarterback to watch and so much of his game is based off of escaping the pocket-- he's never going to be a guy who avoids all contact ala Peyton Manning. At this point, I don't think we're ever going to be able to see vintage Romo again. His back just can't take it.

The most exciting? I wouldn't say that by any stretch.

Year 1 Romo was thrilling but even then he wouldn't have cracked top 5 in excitement. I mean, Kurt Warner, Michael Vick, Brett Favre, prime Peyton Manning, Donovan McNabb...etc. Lots of more exciting choices even before now.

He was exciting because he was pretty good at scrambling and getting stuff out of broken plays early in his career, but that was long ago. Here's some of his best broken plays (pardon the terrible music):

Of course now he'd explode if he tried any of this stuff.

I'm fully into the idea of RGIII throwing deep balls to Gordon and Pryor 12 times per game
