Can't complain about Braxton Miller either, it's a nice setup. We should just never play a tight end.

 

Stephen Anderson looks good, could be a quality blanket for Brock

it might be until next season before it all comes together but the pieces are certainly now there on this side of the ball

 

Decided to use the Gamepass free trial to watch so now I can finally watch haha, definitely enjoying this team

Aguayo is the most surprising part of this game

Maybe the hype just built up on him and he is struggling to handle the pressure of having to live up to near perfection

And also -

1) Chad Henne looked even worse. Jesus. He's so so bad, and I'm starting to hate it because keeping him around is like clinging to the worst roster the Jaguars have ever had. Two interceptions to Vernon Hargreaves that weren't even CLOSE to completions, two failures to take a checkdown on a rollout, and an ugly sack on an overload blitz that he clearly should have slid the protection.

2) Sen'Derrick Marks is back. He is just busting through double teams over and over on running plays. He's flashing his 2014 form.

3) biggest standout was definitely Jalen Ramsey. When he was on the field (finally) he was blowing shit up. He had Mike Evans visibly frustrated in the first quarter. He had a tackle for a loss of 6 on the first play of the game and I think 4 total tackles plus a pass deflection in a quarter and a half of play. His speed and tenacity jumped off the screen and I am SO STOKED

I'm also excited about the running game but we're running against base fronts so that's not as easy to judge in preseason

 

Realized that recently, every team in the AFC south has drafted the proverbial "best player in the draft", at least they were seen that way at the time:

Andrew Luck
Jadeveon Clowney
Jalen Ramsey
Marcus Mariota (okay he was the second best but still held on a very high pedestal, would have been the first QB drafted in a good chunk of drafts)

This division is gonna get really fun as these teams grow. I was scared but also excited watching Jadeveon Clowney wreck shit last night, more of a challenge but maybe having to face him and Watt twice a year will make our offensive line better at playing the rest of the NFL.

 

Clowney wasn't even second best in that class.

Not revisionist. I said Mack was the best and Clowney wasn't when they were drafted.

 

I said the same thing but that doesn't mean that Clowney wasn't the most ridiculously sought after prospect and wasn't, as Randall said, the "proverbial best player in the draft".

 

Meh, that's just a Randall post haha. The only one that was actually the highest regarded player was Luck. Some people had Jack, Elliot, Goff, and Wentz above Ramsey. And most had Tunsil.

 

Most people I talked to had Ramsey at #1, not in mocks but as who they thought BPA was. But yeah it can be argued he wasn't majority best player in the draft mainly because of Tunsil. Luck definitely was and Clowney was hyped beyond belief, after a couple bad seasons it's easy to forget that. Mariota...was pretty much a toss up and I don't know if I'd include him.

 

But I guess what it also says is "The AFC South has sucked enough to get 4 unanimous top 3 BPAs in the draft"

 

Well I'm pretty sure he'd go no.1 a few months ago. Luckily he didn't... And I can't believe I'm saying that either.

 

I wouldn't include Mariota. Clowney was definitely hyped, I don't forget that so much as ignore it because it was wrong haha.

 

Well the colts did that one year really, last year even without luck they weren't complete garbage and picking in the top 10. Idek if I'd count them sucking

 

But if we put Luck in then he would've gone second. To the Eagles. And Chip Kelly bursts into flames.
