The extent to which the Browns are trying to tank next year makes me doubt they go QB with their first pick.

This next year is going to be tough.

Why would they already tank? To fire hue? That's really unfair. I don't even think next years QB class is any better than this years, also way too early to smell a breakout. Oy browns.

He's not completely awful. More of a "right system/utilization" kind of guy at this point. I do agree that the Browns dicked around too much with him. He'll still probably land on his feet somewhere though. Have to give him props for always carrying the flag, no matter how ridiculous shit with this team became.

  6. It wouldn't surprise me if the Panthers reached out to him. We seem to always plug vets into our secondary and he would fill a need.

Thing is, they can bring in a rookie QB, not play him, and let RG3 be a dumpster fire for the year and take all the heat. Then they cut him in 2017, blame 2016 on him, and already have a 2nd year QB ready to go.

Cause 2017, Deshaun Watson aside, is even weaker as QBs go. Unless they are sucking for Fournette or something

They hired Hue about 3 months ago....so, I highly, highly doubt the idea is to tank to fire him.

Watch them improbably go 9-7. Nothing in this city makes sense. RGIII for MVP. TO THA BOWL.

I think, as I do every year, it's too early to really tell how good the next class is gonna be. And that aside. while they could draft and sit a guy the whole year and that would probably be in their best interest, that really doesn't happen in the NFL anymore because of pressure to get the guy snaps so I think it's probable they just avoid the issue altogether this year. And yeah the idea is not to fire Hue, but to inject some top-tier talent into a roster just devoid of it at many major positions right now by ensuring high picks in the draft as this is looking like a multi-year rebuild anyway.

They're going to have like a billion $ in caproom next year, if rg3 doesn't work they could always get cutler.

Browns need to take Ramsey first round. They have too many holes to not take BPA at every spot this year. It'll immediately better their team. And remove the ridiculous amount of pressure for a rookie QB to finally save the franchise.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I think it's much easier to find secondary help than it is to find a franchise QB. If they feel Goff is the guy, I think they should take him. However, Ramsey is a perfectly justifiable pick.

That is true. But I think it's just setting someone else for failure.

True, but, there are a few examples in the last few years. Locker sat his whole first year cause they had Hasslebeck. Bridgewater was gonna sit year one, had Cassel not gotten hurt. In fact, the Vikings handed Cassel the same kind of deal the Browns just gave RG3 for that purpose.

If the franchise is genuinely taking a "we;re gonna blow in 2016" approach, they could keep RG3 as the starter easily through week 8-10. And Browns might be best suited to take that approach, since nobody expects them to not be a top 10 (if not top 5) pick again.

edit: Even Josh Freeman sat til like Week 9, when his team started 0-8.

Well, that true of anyone whose NFL career begins with the words "the Cleveland Browns select..."

I wish you had the common courtesy to not slander a city and franchise on your way out when you left the Bills, but nobody gets what they want.

He's not great, but not awful.

He went to middle school with my brother, and I have some friends who are really close to him. He's a stand-up guy.
