I believe in this team. Prestigious

I get how it seems like I'm insinuating that. It's honestly going to come down to, can Bortles keep it together. Because I know how good Marcus Peters is, and I still think that Allen Robinson still wins more than 50% of the one on one battles with him just on brute strength and catch point instincts alone. I know that Berry will probably shut down Julius Thomas but that really acts as a decoy to get man to man for everyone else. Even if Peters has a good game who is covering Allen Hurns? Sean Smith is gone. Marqise Lee and Rashad Greene have each independently shown they can turn 5 yards into 20 if you don't press cover them. Bortles gets 8 yards running easily when they line up in dime or quarter and the coverage is good.

We legitimately have a lot of weapons for teams to deal with. If Bortles isn't throwing picks that's a lot of stress even on a good secondary.

Bengals are good for at least 3 wins in the AFC North alone. Sweep the Browns at split with the Steelers.

As much as I don't want to believe this, I think it's likely they miss too. Losing Jackson as coordinator and their 1&2 receivers is a big deal. Wouldn't be surprised at a 7-9 season.

That being said, I'll hope for another 10+ win season and AFC North title because I'm a homer

How often do teams we predict "got worse" actually get worse?

(My actual pick is Texans @ Chiefs but refusing to include my own team)

Yeah I don't get this mentality.

After that playoff loss this past year, I'm just not excited for football this year at all. Not sure I'm even going to watch it. That Bengals loss killed football for me. :seeno:

Naw. They always fall into the playoffs. That's just how the AFC north works. Rarely is it clear cut until the last week or so. And they almost always sent two teams.
They were one fumble from a third string RB from the AFC championship game. And that's after a season with significant time without Big Ben, Bell, Bryant, Brown (in the playoffs), Pouncey, and Beachum. This year some of those guys are missing again, but they've shown success even with sport health and suspensions. The defense is returning all key contributors. The secondary is still garbage but it isn't in worse shape than last year. The Dline should be monsters with Hayward and Tuitt again. Hopefully Jones and Dupree step it up. But the D won't be worse than last year. Probably about the same.

It was bad, man. Still haunts me. I'll take that embarrassing loss to Indy a few years ago over that.

Also I feel like playing the AFC East this year is easier than playing the AFC West last year. I could be wrong, but feels that way.

Probably about the same just isn't great when the same is bad though haha

  11. Yeah I think steelers win 10 and get in. Not too worried.

It definitely is. Playing two great teams and two meh ones instead of two great teams and two good ones.

I am just hoping for at least decent things from Osweiler.

Don't sell the Bears short this year. I think they'll surprise and get 8/9 wins. And this is coming from a Packers fan.

They upgraded their defense, especially the front 7. Kevin White being healthy is huge and they improved up front by signing/drafting a few OL.

  17. I'm a little late on this topic but I think strength of schedule is kind of a pointless thing to look at before the season starts. Last year Carolina was suppose to have a gauntlet weeks 6-9 but all four opponents ended up being easier than expected for various reasons.

    Ugh.

Logged on to purchase the preseason live package thing that I do every year and it looks like they scrapped it and rolled it up into the NFL Game Pass membership. $99.99 instead of like $14.99 or whatever it was. Stupid.

  19. The only reason a Browns one wouldn't be funnier is because you wouldn't be able to fit them all in.
