Also, I agree on the Frost comment. They were actually talking about that earlier this week on the radio here in Seattle after the mudhole UW stomped in them. Think there is certainly something to it.

Obviously Helfrich being completely incapable of recruiting and grooming a quarterback is a big issue but the biggest issue is how they've had basically no defense for years and years and years. Mariota and Adams were able to put enough up to mask their shit defense. No longer have that luxury.

Their rosters have not been as good over the last couple years and Helfrich's coaching and recruiting has a lot to do with it too. I just think it looks good on the coach that he came to town with Kelly when they got good, they stayed good when Kelly left, and immediately dropped off once Frost left. But yeah, the biggest thing is recruiting for sure. Aside from liking Frost as a recruiter in a vacuum, he's in Florida and about to be in the Big 12 presumably. He's in a very very good situation.

Actually saw one of the "recruiting insiders" for Oregon on 247 mention something the other day about how he's heard internal stuff (doubtful) about Frost maybe coming back as the HC if they can Helf.

Not sure if he'd take that or not.

 

Matt Rhule is sometimes very confusing. In field goal range? Need a field goal to get within two points? Let's go for it on 4th and 15. Scored with a second remaining? Gotta go for two so UCF can't kick a field goal.

Rhule has always had very little faith in his kickers (never really had a good one though, he came in after Brandon McManus left). That said, it doesn't make sense, and he often seems to just do shit like that to be different
