i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

I wonder how heated the selection committee gets. Would love to see a documentary on that process and see inside the "war room" or whatever they call it.

Idk, I'd err on the side of quality win over slightly harder overall strength of schedule or margin of victory in the little games. I'm not overly impressed by any team on either schedule so far besides Louisville.

One quality win versus three though haha.

If USC is considered a quality win, then surely Auburn is too

A good chunk of those points allowed were after the starting D had been pulled off the field. The starters have only played one full game all year (@Arizona). Which is crazy.

Then we're at two versus three still.

So I guess this is the part where I have to point out that Mike VI was born the year Les Miles came to LSU and could die the year he left.

God damn onions in the house or something.

I hope he stays all four....I think he will because I don't see him with a ton of NFL potential.

Deadly accurate but lacks arm strength which will cost him in the draft process.

None of the Tennessee people I follow have mentioned it yet. Curious.

So I think Western Michigan may run the table.

As I post that, one does. Violation of team rules. Butch doesn't play around with that. Dropped Pig Howard in a hot second for breaking a curfew. So could be something minor, or could be big.

At least that's one place we have good depth.

It doubt it's minor considering they actually dismissed him from the team. But whatever. He was a great player and I'd love for him to still be on the team. Next man up. Time to unleash Kongbo.

Pretty sure Pig was dismissed just for breaking curfew so who knows. Even a hint of something else though and Butch ends it. I do respect that in him.

Alright, I drew up a little playoff rankings based on the 32 playoff eligible teams. I eliminated the ones that will not even be considered or ranked should they win out (Troy, Mid Tennessee, etc...) to give me a top 25. Personally I think this is how they should do the rankings. Who cares about where FSU or Ole Miss is ranked? There is not going to be a 2 or 3 loss team in the playoffs. I ranked only playoff eligible teams based on the likelihood that they make the playoffs.

    1. Alabama
    2. Michigan
    3. Washington
    4. Clemson
    5. Ohio State
    6. Louisville
    7. Virginia Tech
    8. Houston
    9. Florida
    10. Texas A&M
    11. Nebraska
    12. Miami
    13. Tennessee
    14. Baylor
    15. USF
    16. Boise State
    17. Wisconsin
    18. West Virginia
    19. Memphis
    20. Wake Forest
    21. Utah
    22. Western Michigan
    23. NC State
    24. Navy
    25. Arizona State

I definitely understand all the thinking behind having the teams where they are, but having two teams we beat by double digits ranked ahead of us in that is a little painful.

Oh yeah, I imagine haha. I would just be very surprised to see Tennessee beat Alabama twice, which is what would have to happen for them to make it. Florida just has to do it once after winning out on an easy schedule. Virginia Tech could sneak up there. Though I think the top six are the only ones with a real shot.

Beating Alabama twice in the same season would bring me to a new level of being, but totally get it. I don't think Florida wins one of Arkansas/Georgia(/LSU*). VT would have to do some huge upsets, but it's not out of the realm.

If they reschedule LSU then I don't think Florida wins out. I think Florida could lose any three of those games but on paper they should win them all. VT would have to upset Miami and win the ACC. Outside of those two teams, VT only plays bad teams for the rest of the year. While it'd be huge to see Clemson lose, they struggled heavily against Troy and Auburn. It's not impossible.

Avoiding two of Clemson/FSU/Louisville certainly helps them.

Yeah, it's hard to not see Clemson winning their division, then conference looking at their schedule, but who knows which FSU will show up for that match-up, too.
