Rutgers literally has one player on their entire team worth a shit and he was hurt against UW and is out for the year lol.

    Team is shit

i don't get the "only 1 road game" debate for Michigan.

what if they had played the #1-4 team each week at home and won like they did. would it still matter they had only 1 road game so far?

what a weird negative to give to Michigan.

What don't you get? Your raising a hypothetical for an argument dealing with facts.

downgrading Michigan because of one road game so far is idiotic. nothing more, nothing less. keep it based on who they've played and how they played them.

haha knocking Michigan for not playing any road games is not idiotic. Tough matchups on the road are games every team has to deal with. Michigan hasn't had one yet.

But sure let's look at who they played. They had a good win against Wisconsin. And they had a good win against Colorado.

What else have they done? So basing their performance on teams they've played, like you think should happen, doesn't exactly prove Michigan is as good as some people think.

I'm not for or against Michigan.

What I'm trying to say is that basing it their ranking on how many road games they've played doesn't make any sense. Would Michigan be any higher or lower ranked if they had played Rutgers at home? Or Wisconsin on the road? I don't think so. They'd be right where they are (whether that's right or wrong it doesn't matter after 5 weeks).

You don't think teams rankings are affected by home wins/road wins?

I see one good win on that Michigan schedule to date.....Wisconsin.

Colorado was taking them to the woodshed before mounting a comeback so I guess that is decent but if we are judging them based on who they've played...

Hawaii? UCF? Penn State? Rutgers? Looking at their schedule, they should be undefeated going into the tOSU game. Easily.

no, i know they definitely are. and at the end of the season it can make sense if the committee is deciding between two teams who have almost matching records and schedules - but part of that depends on how good the team in question between the two in consideration are.

Rutgers, who should be in D2 at this point, are not the team / the game to be focusing on for the difference between where Ohio State and Michigan should be ranked.

I concur. That's why I'm still not sold on Michigan. I want to see how they do on the road against a ranked team and have to face adversity (on the road) for the first time. That's all I'm saying. And until I see that, it's just hard to think of them in the same class as Ohio State right now.

I just want to point out that while Michigan hasn't done much, they've done more than Ohio State. All I'm saying is if we can justify Ohio State at #2, there's no way we can say Michigan doesn't deserve it.

I'm still not even sold on OSU being #2 I don't think.

Is Ohio State's road game to Oklahoma the tipping point for you to put them ahead of Michigan?

Just curious, because on name alone, yeah, the Oklahoma road game is better than a Rutgers road game, but seeing how bad Oklahoma is this year - at this point in the season - i'm wondering if there's anything else that has you putting Ohio State ahead of Michigan. because the Oklahoma game is Ohio State's best game to date and Wisconsin is Michigan's best game to date and i think Wisconsin is better than Oklahoma.

Ohio State is absolutely worse than Michigan (schedule wise). I thought UW could say they've played some teams but that appears to be false as well with Stanford getting drubbed by Wazzu this weekend and Oregon being a dumpster fire.

Hell, I'm not even sure how impressive Alabama's schedule is outside of maybe Ole Miss? Arkansas does nothing for me.

Yeah that convincing win on the road at Oklahoma is really the difference for me.

    The rivalry is back on

    1) Clemson

    6) Ohio St
    7) Louisville

the downside for Ohio State is that Oklahoma's loss to Houston no longer looks as good and a close win over Texas may look only okay by season's end, depending how they shake out. Also, depending on what TCU does, if they end 6-6 or something that doesn't help Oklahoma which doesn't help Ohio State.

perfect world scenario: top team from each division in the conference make a playoff and seeding is decided by record.

would also be a lot of fun to see.

As much as I think there isn't enough to say Clemson is better than Washington, there is zero evidence to suggest they are better than Alabama. Alabama's worst game was on the road against a Top 15 rival. Clemson's was at home versus Troy.

    P.S. Fuck Baylor.

Well sure, but Clemson beat Louisville and Alabama's best win is over an overrated 2 loss Ole Miss team.

And? Clemson barely beat Louisville and struggled against Auburn and Troy. Alabama beat Ole Miss, USC, and Arkansas.
