I dont understand how people dont understand this lol

The difference of a million to 10-20 million is significant. No one said they're going to never play football or do this again.

You never know if you'll even get to a 2nd contract and you want to make the most $ as soon as possible. Its a short shelflife.

 

They also gain nothing by playing in these meaningless bowl games. The whole "brotherhood" stuff is crap. It's not always a bad thing to be selfish.

 

I seem to recall Von Miller explicitly threatening to sit out the season if franchise tagged.

Players are becoming smarter and they understand that it is up to them to look out for their interests. The entire system is built to treat them as disposable, both as amateurs and as professionals.

 

A lot of the sports media losers like to think everything is some Disney fairytale and don't like it when players act or think against their narrative.

Teams are allowed to be selfish in how they handle contracts and roster decisions but if a player acts the same way he gets ripped. There's a lot of double standards in the pros just like in the college sports.

You do know that Washington has other very good receiving targets and not just John Ross, right? They have a good running game but I think it's well known that Washington won't be able to run on that Bama front. That is no secret but yeah, Washington has some other nice targets to throw to and if Bama is going to only game plan to blanket John Ross then that'd sell me on the fact the offense might actually be able to get something going which I am currently struggling with.

A conference won't help them recruit to that place. This isn't an NCAA Football video game. They aren't going to get kids from Florida, Texas, and California like Nebraska and Oklahoma can. The big time college football tradition isn't there. The appeal isn't there. It just wouldn't happen.

They would be a bottom feeder in a Power Five conference.

A lot of their depth is coming from D-II players (especially linemen) transferring in. Those kind of players can't hang consistently with the athletes that big programs are getting. They just wouldn't match up well.

You'd be surprised at what is being pitched to these kids.

So excited for Eastern Michigan v Old Dominion today. Bowl season. Would hate to lose out on games like this because of players putting their safety/money first.

 

I'm almost positive he returned too early from his injury for this game and clearly couldn't play like he had prior. One of his goals is to break the all time rush record and that's probably why he came back too early, wil try again this year. They'll probably get blown out by UW again this year so maybe he'll play badly against them again also, oh well.

 

Oregon is going to be much improved next year but yeah....I think UW curbstomps them in Seattle.

Oregon bullying UW for the past decade plus is long over.
