It was your response to me that contributes to that type of mindset.

I was just discussing a different viewpoint and your response brought absolutely nothing to this thread.

Man, that sucks. I was really pulling for them.
    Time to enter the FBS.

I don't think that will be happening. They just made the jump to FCS seven years ago.

Troy did the same thing but never dominated half as much as NDSU.
I don't think it will be happening either. It's too tricky financially.

I think that's a step back for them offensively.

NDSU to the Big 12. Only way to make the move viable is to put them in a major conference like that.

No Armstrong and no Westerkamp. Well, good game Tennessee. Should probably just give you guys the trophy now.

They would get destroyed in the Big 12 though.

More so than Kansas? Doubtful. Big 12 or AAC. There's no reason to add a team to any other conference. There's already about 60 too many teams.

Also, really disappointed we got blown out by the second best team in fucking Arkansas. But UCF was baaaaaaad last year. So a winning record and a bowl berth is a great start for Frost.

Kansas would beat them nine times out of ten.

KU went 12-1 less than 10 years ago. That program took a major hit when all of that Mark Mangino stuff came to light.

MWC is just a good if not better than the AAC.

Kansas would not beat them nine times out of ten. For them to do that they'd have to beat them nine times out of nine, seeing as they've already lost to them once. Iowa would beat them nine times out of ten maybe.

What is that supposed to mean? That's not a relevant statement in pro football, let alone college. It's a different staff and no player can play for 10 years so what does that matter? Kansas is not a hotbed for recruiting, it isn't a cyclical pattern of success for Kansas. They've had two seasons with five or more wins since that 12-win year and they were the following two years. They have five conference wins in 8 years. Kansas is a terrible team. Who cares if they had a good year a decade ago? So did the Browns.

This is an even more baffling statement than the last one.

Sagarin ranks the AAC divisions 10th and 12th, and the MWC 11th and 17th.
Average S&P+ for the MWC is 75 (three top 50), AAC is 67 (five top 50). Last year those averages were 82 for the MWC and 75 for the AAC, and that's in spite of having one of the worst five teams in the country.

The AAC is 6-13 against ranked opponents, MWC is 2-13. Houston, USF, Cincinnati are considered somewhat big jobs. Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego, etc... are considered stepping stones at best. The MWC beat zero ranked opponents last year while the AAC again beat six.

I don't know how you think the MWC is even comparable. When talking about expansion, almost the entirety of the AAC was listed because that's the next step to the big leagues. If you're cutting college football down to the best conferences, the AAC stays and the MWC is relegated 10 times out of 10. More money, better locations, better teams, etc...

All mid-major jobs are stepping stones for the most part. You're not looking at the big picture with those rankings. In three seasons, MWC will be the best mid-major conference because the top programs can out recruit the AAC.

The Houston, USF, and Cincinnati jobs are no bigger than Fresno State and Boise State. And for what it's worth, Houston is about to fall off again because the only thing that made them relevant was the coach that used them as a stepping stone.

Fresno State will be back and that changes a lot for the Mountain West.

That's a lot of projection and has nothing to do with the current state of the conference nor the relevance of Kansas being good one year a decade ago.
