Some Knoxville reporters are saying Saban/Bama were blocking any move Kiffin made within the SEC, hence FAU.

 

Temple needs to get a move on (not that I ever expected Kiffin to come)

That would've been a really weird fit lol Charlie strong, maybe but not kiffin.

 

I'm just saying as far as recruiting goes he's above only FIU. I mean, Kiffin has more draw than Frost, but who wants to play for an irrelevant team in an irrelevant conference? Kiffin has a major uphill battle. So I guess yeah, if he wants to rebuild his resume, he could have any job in the country if he makes this team great.

That'd be fitting considering Temple's coach just left for Baylor.

 

Pure common sense says don't give a proven OC (or DC) to a rival, though, so not sure how it's hater banter.

 

And I'm saying that as a fan of the team who let John Chavis go to LSU. We probably should've blocked him moving to an SEC school.

Edit: Oddly enough, it was Lane Kiffin who let him go.

 

It's common sense that Saban would be uncomfortable with Kiffin going to LSU or whatever rival... but what do you mean Saban blocked the move? Kiffin's contract is up and he's entitled to go anywhere he'd like. Saban can't just block a move. It's not a player transferring to a rival. Kiffin can do what he wants.

 

Strong, Kiffin, Butch all taking jobs in Florida this offseason. I wonder how that'll effect UF, FSU and Miami with recruiting.

 

Was just saying what a few tweets I saw were saying as they seemed relevant to the conversation at hand.

 

I wonder if one of those Alabama QBs that transferred out will end up at FAU.

 

It shouldn't hurt them at all. It will probably be similar to Fresno State's impact on USC and UCLA during Pat Hill's era.

They'll steal a few under the radar guys from the bigger schools in the state because of the opportunity for playing time, but the big recruits will always choose the power programs.

 

I think Barnett is committed to ASU now but I guess its possible he could change his mind.

 

It will probably hurt UCF and other small southern schools more than the big boys. They aren't recruiting the same profiles.

 

Three of their QBs left the program. David Cornwell and Cooper Bateman left too.

Bateman can play right away, I believe.

Yea, my immediate thought was Bateman but I couldn't remember his name for some reason lol

 

Hope the best for Kiffin. He's had some nice moments at Alabama. I feel like he won the Clemson game last year with his play calling. Lost the Ohio State game a couple years ago though by neglecting the run game and having Blake Sims pass.
