Hard to say. Ultimately I still think the logic of my team getting thrashed by Michigan and losing to Pitt would override my desire to see them in the playoffs, but that's a difficult thought experiment

As much as I want Washington to win the whole thing (based on who is left) I don't think they really have a chance in hell to beat Bama. It'd be dumb on the committee's part to pair those teams up in the semi-finals.

Pitt has a win over two potential playoff teams. Not exactly the loss to hold against them.

 

I think UW's defense can keep up with Alabama's offense.....it's the UW pass blocking/Browning having a dead arm that'll doom them.

Of course the upside to the apologists getting in is watching them get blown the fuck out by Bama

 

I get the argument, and for the most part agree with the logic, but I'm just saying losing to them in a rivalry game when they've also gone on to a marquee win with Clemson. It's not as bad as losing to Iowa.

Penn State-Pitt is a rivalry? This is the first year they've played since 2000.

 

My ideal final four would be 1. Bama 2. Clemson 3. Washington 4. Ohio State

That has the most potential for the most entertaining games

The committee should do everything in their power to guarantee an Ohio State - Alabama game because that will do insane ratings and make them a ton of money.

 

I'd rather lose to Iowa than Pitt

 

What it'll actually be is 1 Bama 2 OSU 3 Clemson 4 Washington

 

Whatever the case I really hope the good Washington shows up. I've found that team to be very likable
