because it's pretty clear that if he leaves for anywhere, it's likely going to be A&M

From what I read, hes never been the main guy for a bigger program and only like plan C which kinda surprises me. I think writers were also very picky about how hes lost to some bad teams. Ive hardly seen his name mentioned but no ones ruled him out either. You should feel good about him staying another year, though you never know what could open up once this weekend ends.

    Edit: Fuck him

  3. I 100% want to keep Fedora. I read a stat a couple weeks ago that said only 4 teams have won more games the last two seasons. The defense fell off this year and that killed us.

I know A&M is probably his ideal spot but I have a feeling he might bolt if given the opportunity. Trubisky is leaving and there could be some penalties coming down soon.

A coach with the last name "Fedora" would be enough for me to decide they weren't right for my school, imo.

I'm kinda rooting for Fleck to Oregon if not for any other reason than the fact he won't try to poach any of UWs assistants (namely Jimmy Lake).

huh. on Saturday i said that i thought Wisconsin wouldn't get in to the playoff with a conference title win and wisconsin fans threw a shit fit and now nobody has them in and yet winning said game. i knew i wasn't the only one who knew they'd get left out.

Ooooooh Jimmy Lake. My family got to know him in his year at Montana St and he was a super cool guy. I lost track of where he was after his stints with Detroit and Tampa. Glad to hear he's doing well at UW!

    Very cool!

He's a boss and has always had his secondaries playing at prime levels here at UW and with the recruits he has coming next year partnered with the guys redshirting this year, could be even better.

Been rumors he may be a candidate for a few smaller school head coaching jobs this year so that would suck.

Wasn't Pete Kwiatkowski on that MSU squad, too? Don't want to lose him either although I think his only real threat is if Harsin leaves Boise State since he already has a top gig at UW and probably wouldn't take a HC job at a lower level school.

If harsin is the guy, a theory is they might try to pry Wilcox from wiscy with the big bucks so I think lake might be safe there.

But is Oregon a better job than Wisconsin? Not sure it is. But yeah I suppose if the money is right then that is an option and I'd be ecstatic.

Don't want Lake or Coach K going anywhere. They are supposedly in the pending deal for big raises with this new deal for Petersen which is coming soon.

Looks like it, yeah. Cool to see that they're still coaching together!

I don't know that but obviously the offense will be more stable than there, I know they've been cheap and lost a lot of coaches before. Wilcox is from Eugene and was a bronco coach so it makes sense there. From a recruiting standpoint it makes double sense to have a guy like harsin and Wilcox also.

Who the hell knows anything though.

from what i gathered, chryst had a certain amount of trust with alvarez. i doubt he'll run into the same budgetary concerns as bielema and andersen

  17. Is Les Miles still rumored for Houston and Purdue? The latter would be such a random program for him but he would fit in perfect in the big ten.

wait, so indiana isn't even trying to land a coach? they're immediately naming the DC permanent HC? wild

Hmm. I'm kinda leaning more towards wanting Zaire. Chryst already rotates QBs a lot between Hornibrook and Houston, who is graduating, anyways. Could continue it next year with an option that is truly mobile, could make the offense actually dangerous for once

I don't get why Wisconsin can't get good quarterbacks. Sure they're a run first team and always will be, but having a great O-line and running game is about the best situation you can be in as a QB. I mean, we saw with Russell Wilson in 2011 how much success a QB is capable of attaining in Chryst's offense.

i mean, hornibrook is hardly bad and he's the first qb that chryst has brought in.

andersen is a hack and i never trusted him with recruiting. stave was fine from a talent and physical standpoint, dude was just a head case

I thought right after I posted that, I suppose I should give Hornibrook more time

i think he'll be a really solid third/fourth year player. especially if we land zaire and he can rotate in to take some pressure off of alex

lol I just booked a room in Glendale for two nights for the CFP Semifinal with the intention of being able to cancel if they don't make it (like I've always been able to do through the Hilton app) and then just got an e-mail saying the cancellation deadline has passed (?) so I'm stuck with a room for two nights now.

Rooms were selling out quickly so I decided to jump and may have just screwed myself royally.

Well Go Dawgs and Boo Clemson!

As much as the playoff system is flawed and not perfect (nothing ever will be) it's at least better than the BCS computer system. I'd be very curious to know what the title game would look like by BCS standards after this weekend. At least with the current system two more teams get a shot at the title which wasn't possible before.
