Yup reduce regular season by a game to make up for extended "post-season"

    Regular

8 teams makes the most sense, but I think we're stuck at 4 for awhile. There's enough drama to get everyone interested, but not enough to piss everyone off yet.

The first part of this is correct. I'm all for determining a conference champion based on standings. Conference championship game usually feels unnecessary and is so lopsided anyways.

Umm. Get rid of conferences all together though? No. Can't believe someone would actually suggest that.

I'm not in favor of 8 teams. make it 6 or 12

    Huh?

    Why 12 if not 8?

    12 is excessive

6 is fine. 8 is fine. 12 is too many.

News on once the clouds are gone. Prestigious

I think you can do two byes with 6 and that's super easy for the next step. Anything else idk but I'm sure it'll happen, not opposed unless they make it super dumb.

All I know is there should be a reward for winning your conference (P5).

The committee left out a two loss Stanford team last year so doing the same to a two loss PSU/Wisconsin team is almost guaranteed with the love affair with tOSU.

Unless of course they opt to leave out a one loss Pac-12 Champ team instead assuming UW takes care of Colorado which wouldn't shock me even with the fact their one loss is against a team who is likely going to finish in the Top 10.

I like rewarding top teams with something is all (a bye) and honestly I feel 8 is too much so if you go that many you may as well go nuts with it...but at least you're awarding the top 4 teams wth byes...and team 5-8 with home games.

Also, with a number like 12, then you CAN do stuff like "winning conference championship game guarantees you a spot", and then you CAN take a team like Virginia tech (and make them like a 9 seed or something). With 8, I still wouldn't want a VA tech

Oddly enough, the loss to Pitt looks pretty good now. They beat Clemson and are 8-4. Could lose to a lot worse.

I think the committee would say they are - by getting a New Years Six bowl game (or whatever their technical titles are now).

I feel like part of the reason the playoff isn't six teams is because then all P5 champions get in every year no matter what. So if a conference is won with like a 7-5 record, would they really be worth a playoff spot?

How often does that happen? I mean 8-8 teams in make the playoffs in the NFL and it usually isn't made into a big deal.

But still, how often is that an issue in CFB?

I'm sure it's very rarely of ever. Maybe Big 12 since there's no divisions and title games so you could have someone lose 2 conference games and, let's say, 3 out of conference games and be 7-5.

I'm really just guessing for why they made it only 4. With all the participation trophies - I mean bowl games - out there, I'm surprised it's only 4 and started at 4. I like the idea of 6 teams with 1 and 2 getting byes.

Make the playoff field bigger (i.e. 8 teams) and shrink the amount of shit bowl games and make the bowl qualification 8 wins instead of 6.

You have 5 win teams getting into bowl games because there aren't enough 6 win teams this year....cut the bowls in half.

I know Bowls=$$$ so it won't happen but it should.

lol Florida at 15...they are such dogshit.

It's kinda weird people shitting on the Pac-12 as a garbage conference but looking at it, the SEC is pretty vile.

Louisville at 16 is a joke. LSU at 21 is too. As is Oklahoma State at 11th. I guess we really are going full steam on the "you don't need to watch football to talk about football train." Thanks, Skip.

It should be Florida. Keep it simple and just have the #2 in the SEC go.

i mean i think the top 10 is fine, i just think Colorado who beat a solid team in Utah, should jump IDLE Oklahoma.

The writing's on the wall that Colorado has no chance.
