agreed. especially with oklahoma THAT much higher than them. to me, that doesn't make any sense. OU and WVU both have equal wins in kstate and TCU.... the only difference is that ou has a win over baylor, but has 2 losses.

LSU has no business being in the top 20. Their only quality wins are Akransas (4 loss team) and Ole Miss (5 loss team).

Washington not falling below Wisconsin after getting dominated is lame.

I think the largest body of Tennessee grads anywhere is in atlanta, too. I'm more worried about not having any of the current seniors on defense and that spread offense.

Arkansas was ranked last week. It was a #24 vs #25 matchup.

And their quality loss against Alabama was a better performance than most teams put up this year.
And you are trying to say WVU isn't high enough? Come on now haha

Didn't feel like giving in the bait of this post for the last few days, but I'm doing it anyways.

45 unanswered points on a VTech team that was ranked until this week. 38 unanswered points on Florida, ranked all season. A&M in 2OT pre-key injuries for them I'd argue is a good result, even though we loss and their season has nose-dived a bit with Trevor Knight being injured. Kentucky scored twice in the last five minutes once the starters were out so the score doesn't reflect the game at all. 49-22 isn't a stumble, but 49-36 gives the impression the game in doubt. It wasn't. But sure. We've not done much.

Not gonna deny that Bama game was a shellacking. I didn't give us much of a chance in that game if we'd been healthy across the field, which we decidedly weren't. Do I think it'd been closer had we been healthy? Slightly, but not much closer. Not going to find many people around here upset with that loss on anything more than a superficial level. Bama is the superior team in every regard to every team in the nation, as much as I hate it, and losing to them is just another "Well, yeah" as it has been under Saban for most teams in the SEC, not just us.

I think 19 is pretty fair, but as I said earlier, the South Carolina loss is easily earned disrespect and I was totally okay with not being ranked because of it. Take care of a business against the two worst teams in the East and a little help from LSU (and I'll be shocked if LSU don't win that game) and we're back in the Champ game. Speaks for itself.

Just shows how much the committee respects the talent of USC. They go from unranked two weeks ago to #12. When they play their game, they can play with pretty much anybody.

I expected Wisconsin to jump them so I was a bit surprised when it didn't happen.

My guess is that if you watched that game, the committee saw that UW had plenty of chances to take that game and run with it but failed to capitalize on any of them (i.e. blocked FG and Jake Browning being horrifically off his game) and didn't penalize them too much for the fact that USC is playing very good ball.

But if you're mad at Washington not dropping too much, you should be pissed at Michigan not dropping a single spot for their loss against an unranked four loss Iowa team.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

doesn't mean they should move up 8 spots.

Bowl projections heading into Week 12

Schlabach has USC in the Rose Bowl but has Washington in the 4th spot in the CFP. I guess this scenario would have to result in USC winning the Pac-12 South and then Washington beating them in a close game in the Pac-12 Championship?

UW obviously wouldn't get in as a two loss, non-conference champ so that is the only scenario that makes sense here. Still don't see that happening, USC dug themselves a bit of a hole earlier on and I think the Pac-12S is going to come down to Colorado/Utah.

Again, they fell too far to begin with. They fell 11 spots after that Alabama game. I would love to hear an argument against it.

I'm shocked at how high usc jumped this week....I still think Utah is going to the Rose Bowl. they win out and lose pac title game...thinking thay should give them the edge

    Trusted

I have no beef with LSU being in the top 15 or whatever because of the level they're playing at right now. I will be surprised if they don't crush Florida this weekend and A&M afterwards.

Yeah, imo Michigan definitely shouldn't have stayed at 3, but they were never going to drop below Wisky anyway having one fewer loss and having won head to head. Just a product of Clemson having (I guess) a worse loss and Louisville looking unimpressive, I guess. So now that I think about it, I'm not sure who id have placed above Michigan.

Yup. If UW wins out (including the Pac-12 Championship) then I think they're in the four while the P-12 runner up would go to the Rose Bowl which yes, I think will be Utah as well.

It's crazy to think that the Pac-12 North and South will be decided on the final week of the year with Washington @ Washington State and Utah @ Colorado.

USC has an outside shot for the South but needs help.

So in short, no? You have no actual argument and you're taking a side that not even DooDooBird will take?

  19. domotime2

    Great Googly Moogly Prestigious

i dont understand what you mean by no actual argument? I'm talking about quality wins in a system that is all about analyzing resumes. LSU has two 'good wins' in arkansas and ole miss and that's it. If they werent LSU they wouldn't be ranked this high. Going 0-3 against great teams doesn't impress me, no matter how close the scores were.

Ole Miss is still considered a good win, huh?

i'm being super generous with that too

  22. CarpetElf

You can't say that when they dropped eight spots for losing to Alabama. And they went 0-1. Les Miles isn't the coach. This is an entirely different team. And I'm sorry, but what are you even talking about? If that Alabama game wasn't impressive then what is? That was a near perfect defensive game by both teams. No one else all year has done half as good against Alabama. THAT'S being generous.

And no hate for Ok. St or Auburn?

  23. domotime2

    Great Googly Moogly Prestigious

but they lost.....and they lost to Auburn...and they lost to Wisconsin too. Eventually you have to punish a team for not getting it done. Yeah if LSU had 1 loss to alabama, of course I wouldn't be as harsh on them, but they have 3 losses, and barely 2 good wins. Oh and LSU only has 1 win on the road all year (common theme for the SEC)

admit it. if they weren't LSU, they wouldn't be ranked.

I think auburn is ranked too high also but at they very least they beat YOU guys.

  24. iam1bearcat

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

I agree, for how they played that game dropping 11 spots didn't make sense. But do you feel then that moving them up 8 was to make up for the extreme drop that shouldn't have happened or do you feel they should be where they are? (Just curious, I have no love or hate against LSU just that moving up 8 spots should rarely if ever happen).
