No no. I'm assuming Ohio state beats Michigan and ends the season 11-1. Wisconsin beats Penn state...and then Wisconsin still gets left out.

If it's between 1 loss Ohio state, 1 loss Washington (conf champ), and 2 loss Wisconsin (conf champ). .I think Wisconsin gets left out

Won't they stress that conference champ means more than regular season performance? Hasn't then been a major focus in the past for the committee?

It's a focus but not a guarantee. last year Ohio state lost to the eventual big ten champion. this wouldn't be the case this year.

It'll be interesting but when push comes to shove I think they're not going to take wisconsin...within my scenario

If Bama loses the SEC Champ game (small chance, be it Florida or Tennessee), they probably still get in yeah? Seems like losing has hurt teams at the top less this season.

  5. Then what's the point of having a conference champ - it makes a mockery of it then and shows that it isn't important

Alabama probably gets in even if they lost to Auburn and Florida haha. they can easily lose 1 game

Yeah but sometimes logic has to play into it. is Florian going to make the playoffs if they beat bama? of course not. the sec east is terrible

And even with that at least Florida would have the ability to say they beat Alabama. Wisconsin would avoid having to beat the 2 best teams in the conference

    I don't see it

I don't think they'd get in with two losses. Too many potential 1-loss teams for a 2-loss team to get in (which is also my thought for Wisconsin). But I also think Bama won't lose the Champ Game. Who knows with the Iron Bowl.

Florida hasn't clinched the East yet. The minor hope I have a Tennessee fan has to make me mention that.

Haha no I'm half kidding about losing both games...but losing 1 is no sweat

Yeah. Depending on how that loss went down, too, you could argue they wouldn't even drop from first. I'm ready for Bama to go back to Bama of the 90s.

  11. It's gonna be Bama OSU Clemson and then beteeen Wisconsin and Washington in the fourth spot

I think Tennessee is getting disrespected btw in the polls

I think it's earned disrespect a little bit because of the South Carolina loss. Inexcusable loss. Which, we win that game+following results, we're probably in the top 15 right now and controlling the East instead of needing LSU to win (which, they should do easily). I think 20-25 would be fair (two teams we beat handily are ranked ahead of us, which is always weird, but they have one less loss than us so I can swallow it), but I also understand if we don't get it until after the Mizzou game if we win.

If Wisconsin wins the B1G, they get in ahead of Washington.

If Washington wins the Pac-12 and finishes 12-1, they'll get in. Especially if USC finishes in the Top 12 or so which I think is very likely. Not real worried about it.

Although, as I said earlier, if they got left out and were relegated to the Rose Bowl, I wouldn't exactly cry over it.

i didnt really realize how hard UT's schedule was until i looked at it. Even their non-power conference games were hard

Yeah. And as the season's progressed, some of those teams have started looking better than initially thought, VTech comes to mind there. Next season i think we open with GTech in Atlanta in a "neutral" site.

No no no. What have they done that's so impressive? Beat Georgia on a hail mary? Stumbled by Kentucky? Lost to Bama by only 5 touchdowns?

  21. I'm just preparing myself with the knowledge that winning the conference championship will mean nothing to the playoff committee

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

LSU beats an unranked Arkansas team and moves up 8 fucking spots. genius.

To be fair, they fell too far after Alabama. Hell, they should have moved into the top ten after Alabama.

  25. Don't worry, I have a feeling that will work out like a home game for the Vols. Georgia Tech gets damn near outnumbered in their own stadium by FSU and Notre Dame most times..
