See I don't understand this logic, because if close wins are bad, Wisconsin had to rally to beat a Georgia State team that has a losing record in the Sun Belt. And on top of that they have 2 losses. Their best win is against an overrated Nebraska team, which doesn't even come close to matching Clemson's best win IMO.

clemson benefitted off of college kickers to keep from having a loss to a nc state team that just lost to bc. gimme a break lol.

i'm a wisconsin fan and i'm not going to argue they shouldn't be in the top 4. they were in the natty last year and until they lose, they deserve to be in the top four this year. they've hardly been impressive.

I can't disagree with you there. Clemson's yet to play to their potential this year, and the NC State game was rough. The point I was trying to make is that if you start counting close wins against teams, even the best teams have shown a lot of vulnerability. Nobody but #1 has been consistently impressive this season. But even Alabama really struggled to beat Ole Miss, who has proven to be less than stellar this year, and to say that that should hurt them in the poll is absurd in my opinion. A win is a win.

i'm not disputing it. a win is a win. that's why they're in my top 4 and wisconsin, my team, is not. i can do that and still be unimpressed. there's a lot of 2014 FSU in this team to me.

Yeah but then rankings would only be, what, 7-9 teams?

I know nothing about those two teams but would never bet on a Tuesday night game just because it seems like it'd be a shitshow

Remember kids, LSU was 2nd in last year's first rankings.

    Meh whatever....

Doesnt do the Pac-12 any favors that the best teams are Washington, Colorado, and Utah.

When USC, UCLA, Stanford, Oregon aren't involved, the committee doesn't seem to care much.

Honestly Wisconsin should be above them. But hey, if LSU wins out they are going to the playoffs haha

Well, if things stand (and they won't), all of Auburn's losses would be to playoff teams

A&M is not the surprising to me at 4. I wouldn't have complained if it was Washington though. Either way, there is still plenty of football left to make this nonsensical set up for a playoff more confusing.

I just found it strange that the committee mentioned in particular the comparison of A&Ms turd OOC schedule compared to the Huskies turd OOC schedule.

They were giving A&M credit for beating UCLA at home in overtime but shrugged off the throttling that UW gave Stanford/Oregon which is odd to me being that UCLA is in 5th place in the P12 South.

I'm not sure why the committee wouldn't penalize A&M more for the loss against Bama. It was against the best team in the country, sure, but it's not like A&M put up much of a fight.

Why bother playing the game if you're just going to throw out the result in the name of strength of schedule?

A&M barely beat a mediocre Tennessee team after playing a shitty game. That's all they've done. This is nothing but proof that you can truly be a casual fan and know much much more than the people employed to make these decisions. I can't think of a single reason why A&M should be above Wisconsin, let alone UW,.Louisville, and OSU.

I mean if they're only looking at OOC, then obviously you have to give a slight edge to A&M for whatever that UCLA win is worth. Wouldn't make any sense for them to look at UW's wins over Oregon/Stanford in that sense.

All that to say, I think Washington should certainly be in the top 4. I think the changing of the guard in the PAC12 is unfairly hurting them.

And to be fair to A&M, they played a solid 45-minute game against Bama. I think that's more the direction they're coming from.

I mean I would argue that A&M's best win is over Auburn not Tennessee, but I'm a homer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can think of plenty of reasons why A&M should be above Wisconsin. More potent offense. Equal defense. One less loss. Hornibrook. So on and so forth.
