They've struggled against almost every team they played. Troy and NC State were bad games. Allowing FSU to come back like that wasn't good either haha.

Apparently he wanted to transfer last season. The coaches told him they'd run more I-formation to get him to stay, and now he's leaving....

Fair enough. On NC State especially, we deserved to lose that one and came out alive somehow. I'm sick of the close games! Haha Gotta admit, the resume looks good though, beating 3 top 20 teams.

Meh, barely beat Auburn when they were bad and barely beat FSU, who is still massively overrated. Louisville is their best victory by far. Really though, I'm more impressed with Wisconsin.

Is the overwhelming consensus amongst the board here that Washington gets wrecked by anybody in the playoff, not just Bama?

i think bama, michigan, and if louisville sneaks in, yes. weirdly, i think they stand a better chance against clemson than louisville

Interesting. The matchup that I want most out of any is Michigan.

Bama is the only one out of them all that I have little confidence in.

    The rivalry is back on

I'm not convinced that Washington is worse than Clemson and Michigan, but I also don't have any reason to rank them higher than either of those teams.

i think michigan's defense is way too strong. that being said, i'm not entirely convinced michigan makes it to the playoff. think washington has the easiest route to end up there.

I think the argument for Washington over Clemson is quite easy. Washington struggled a bit on the road in Week 2 at Arizona with a dual threat QB who ran a legit 4.3. It was an ugly night and a weird scene overall and they hadn't won a game in the state of Arizona in ten years so yeah, it was just odd but they got through that.

Every other game they've played, the did what they had to do and punched every opponent in the mouth unlike Clemson. Smoked Stanford (#7, at the time) in a game that was scheduled for no reason other than to put Christian McCaffery in the Heisman spotlight on Friday Night and then threw up 70 on Oregon. They don't let bad teams stay in games.

I feel like Michigan's defense in a lot of ways is similar to what the Huskies just faced with Utah. I dunno, they have a legit defense and it'd be a tough matchup but I think UWs offense would make more plays than the UM offense, which impresses me about nil.

fwiw i had washington third haha

similar, sure, but a much lesser version. utah doesn't have peppers, lewis, mccray and wormley haha

Can't argue that too much but as I look at their schedule, I'm not sure they've played even a remotely good offense yet to really test that defense. Not saying that UWs offense is some juggernaut or anything but they are VERY well balanced and have one of the fastest WRs in the country. I just think that would be an incredibly fun matchup and the one I want to see.

is colorado's offense not good? looks decent, stanford game withstanding. penn state's? genuinely asking, and again, i like washington and think they're better than any of the teams i just mentioned. i just think michigan is the best version of any of those defenses you mentioned, from a talent perspective alone.

Colorado is fine. Their offense couldn't get anything going against USC but blowing it in the second half against Michigan is fair.

Colorado's offense is good and the fact of the matter there is that they were beating the piss out of Michigan's D in the first half before Sefo Liufau went down and the three replacement QBs went 2/9 for 15 yards. Had Liufau stayed healthy, they probably win going away in that game.

I received my masters degree from Penn State (boo me, I know) and so I watch them as much as I can here in Seattle and outside of Saquan Barkley, that offense does nothing for me.

I think Washington gets beat by Alabama. Could get beat by Michigan, Clemson, Ohio State, and Louisville but I'd only bet on Michigan.

    Speaking of UWs offense...

Pretty much....I don't think anybody touches Alabama and while Washington could lose to any of those you mentioned, they could also just as easily beat them.

Something about Chris Petersen in big games on a national stage that always gives me a warm & fuzzy, as well for some reason.

Oklahoma/Boise State is still one of the best games I've ever watched live.

    You saw that live? Jesus.

I have it on DVD and still watch it probably once a year. That was so wild.

To be clear, I mean live on TV hahaha. I made the distinction because I have the tape of Nebraska eviscerated UF the year after I was born.
