    Correct.

    Edit:
The best we could do is give Rose a wink wink deal that if he "toughs" it out a second season we can make him whole on early bird rights on the third contract, which would technically be tampering depending on how you phrase it. If you just tell the player and agent we can only offer the minimum or the tax-payer exception (if it's available) until early bird or full bird rights are obtained, I don't think that would be illegal since you are just stating facts. But if we actually agreed to something like that than we could be going down Joe Smith tampering territory.

Going back to the Cavs' cap situation, here is the tax chart to remind people what the implications look like. The tax level is roughly $119M and change. Just going off what Hoopshype shows as of today for Cleveland (does not have Calderon or Rose), the Cavs are $9.5M over the tax level and are considered a repeater. They max out the first tier at $12.5M and have an additional $4.5M in the second tier at a rate of $2.75. Therefore, I have the Cavs tax exposure at $24.9M per Hoopshype. You can see how quickly that jumps up and why so many owners balk at being a tax team, let alone a repeater tax team.

I don't think so, Knicks would've really liked to have crabbe in that deal. He isn't a 0 on defense.

Also no way marks would help the Knicks lol

That something is probably getting off a bad contract with a player who was pissed he wasn't getting more playing time last year.

Poor B.Knight. Imagine trading that lakers pick for him though, yikes. Also imagine being the Bucks and trading for MCW instead of keeping it.

The cavs can get Bledsoe for nothing, just need contracts to match up I think.

There are so many "what ifs" about the Kyrie thing, they could've done so much if this happened a month ago.

Portland for a 12.9m exception from that trade, too bad there's like nothing left to get. Maybe someone will give away something at the deadline.

What you mean? They're not just going to give him up for nothing especially with Knight injured now

You're too focused on the now. They've been trying to move either of them forever. It's not because they want to keep one, they want to get rid of both contracts. Keeping them only hurts their rebuild anyway. (Also pretty sure I heard the 2nd rounder thing on Lowe post. Just meaning it wouldn't take a lot.)

But yea, McDonough will lie his ass off more when someone calls for Bledsoe now. 100%
