Dolan: then, now, forever

 

I don't know a lot about Baynes but in researching him he seems like he's a good defensive rebounder and screen setter and a bit of a bruiser in the post, and he improved Detroit's defensive rating when he was on the floor. Seems like a solid pickup given what the C's need. Accurate?

I know everybody wanted Dedmon, but I can't see him signing for money that short. Baynes is taking a $2m pay cut.

 

Not gonna complain about Wolves signings. We need to overpay until we earn a reputation

 

Dennis Smith looked good.

 

I like the Baynes pickup for you guys in totality. Given what you let go in various moves for Hayward, I think Baynes was a best case scenario. Deadman would have been better, but he was priced too high. I think Baynes will help with the rebounding, but his lack of speed and switching ability will be the drawback. But where you guys and the market is at you aren't getting a perfect player.

 

Someone posted some advanced defensive stats and it seems like he's garbage in ISO but pretty good defensively elsewhere. And god knows, we can accept some flaws to get a little rebounding and some interior toughness.

Well, Both those things are not true. If you want to claim melo was being pushed out for two seasons, that's fine but it's a small portion of his Knicks tenure and their records during them. I'm sure he does want to get out now but I doubt that was the case last offseason.
