IIRC it's already dropping in popularity when it comes to youth sports, with basketball and soccer being the top two now.

 

Basketball could never replace football for me, health consequences aside

I'll never understand Atlanta's apathy toward their teams. Even when they're good they don't give a shit. My mom's entire side of my family lives there and none of them care about anything but college football, except for one person. People will go to a Braves game or a Hawks game here and there, but none of them care, and it's so weird.

Like, the Pacers here have always had issues with attendance but you can always find a bar to watch the game or talk about the team with someone but trying to bring up sports that isn't college football (or NFL to a small extent) in Atlanta is like trying to speak another language to someone.

 

Its the opposite with knick fans, I wish there was attendance issues lol for their own sake
