we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Ryan Mathews or Robert Kelley this weekend? Can't seem to make up my mind.

Really glad I didn't draft Charles and took Ware later on in my draft instead

I just hate Jeremy Hill. He only ever blows up when defenses totally let him. Otherwise it's like 49 yards, no TD, no catches, Giovanni Bernard clearly the better runner AND passing down back, etc

Charles' potential is still worth more than that

I took Charles in like the 5th so his value was just right. I was lucky that I havent needed him but he needs just one game to be either trade bait or a playoff Savior

  5. What potential though ? His knee seems dead and Ware is running great.

Jamaal Charles is a hill I am willing to die on. Sure, maybe this injury was the one that sent him into the decline of his career. He probably will never have a 1500 yard season again.

I think its still likely he will regain his explosiveness, and you just got too frustrated with him and end up trading a way a guy who could be wrecking teams in the playoff run. It's swelling in Charles's knee that's the problem, they really just need to sit him one or two more games. Sucks now, I am having trouble pulling out wins, but I still don't want to give up potential 15-25 point games from weeks 10-16 for fucking Jeremy Hill. That's how you randomly surprise people and jump into the 6 seed and start beating playoff teams. There's a team that does that every year.

Having a RB stash for later explosiveness only gets more important every game from here on.

  7. But he hasn't proven he's capable of doing that since coming back, it's pretty clear they favor Ware.

It's pretty clear that he hasn't "come back"

Kansas city most certainly does not "favor" Ware. It just favors a 100% healthy back over adding unnecessary long term damage to a 70% healthy franchise back

you think a soon to be 30 year old RB is going to regain his explosiveness?

    hmm, alrighty

We have seen none percent of what Charles is post knee rehab. They put him in before he was ready for two carries and then cautiously didn't push it. He didn't re-injure the knee lol.

Yeah you're right he's useless now, congrats. Could have gone either way. That still doesn't mean he is useless 3 weeks from now.

I am just of the opinion that, in 2016, people come back from reconstructive ACL surgery a lot more often than not. And Charles has done it before. The Chiefs are not holding a healthy Charles behind Ware lol no way is that even in the spectrum of reality. They're being cautious with a slow healing process.

If he offered you an even slightly better RB, say, Latavius Murray, I might consider it. Hill is a RB that gives you 3 good games a season and you have no idea when they will happen. I see him like, LeGarrette Blount before Belichick recently fell in love with him.

if he was 26, I'd agree. but he turns 30 in a few weeks. How many productive 30+ year old RBs are there in the NFL not named Deangelo Williams?

I just don't think there's a lot of Jamaal Charles's in the league right now. Because prior to Todd Gurley there seemed to be a serious drought of "alpha" backs. A lot of the ones who were perceived to be that dominant from college from like 2008 to 2014 are huge busts (Alabama backs like Eddie Lacy and Trent Richardson come to mind.) DeMarco Murray is the only mid-20s age back I can think of that is really good, everyone else is under 25 or pushing/over 30.

Thats why the whole "runningbacks are devalued" narrative carries on. But if you pay attention, it's actually good RBS that are the best fantasy players again this year... a lot of the league's WR1s have tanked since they rely a lot on QB performance and not being double covered every play. At the same time, a lot more teams are sucking with RB committees and going back to using one back. (Dallas, Washington, Tennessee, Miami, Arizona, Indianapolis, the list goes on and fucking on.) Atlanta is the biggest counter-example to all of this - and it's because they have the best one two punch of RBs (either would start on a lot of teams) and a top 3 WR, if not the best in the league.

So what I'm saying is, yeah second class backs are irrelevant by age 30. If youre a split-down, RBBC back your whole career, the whole point is to be "fresh legs" so when you arent fresh you are done. But generationally dominant backs like Charles, AP, Matt Forte, MJD, McCoy, etc tend to cheat a couple more years into their early 30s. Charles, like the other names mentioned, has a natural instinct and ability to mentally process where he'll be hardest to tackle at any given moment. So even when he slows down he could very well still be a 4.0+ yard per carry runner off vision alone, and take advantage of poor discipline. I've seen a lot of backs on his level do it despite tons of injuries and rehab.

Maybe it is more belief than statistics and logic but to me you don't want to make the mistake of trading that away for nothing.

I wouldn't trade Charles for Hill because Hill fucking sucks. I can't imagine needing to start Hill more times than not and I'm sorry for any team that has to endure that weekly.

Yeah, like, I don't even know if I trade Jamison Crowder for Hill if there's even 0.5 PPR involved, let alone adding Charles to that package. I definitely don't trade Charles for Hill straight up unless Bernard goes to IR

  17. Oh I'm not taking the deal. I shot it down, we were just throwing out trade scenarios.

    im just posting Prestigious

I drafted Charles like 30th (everyone values QBs and RBs super high so they fly off the board quickly in this league) but I was able to draft Ware 130th. So I'm not too upset, I will just hate it if they ever form a committee at some point.

Over thinking my roster this week because of all the juicy matchups. Right now I have Brees (vs Seattle) at QB, Johnson (@ Carolina) and Ware (@ Indy) at RB and Winston (vs Oakland) in my flex. Over thinking me wants to get Christine Michael @ NO in the lineup but I just can't justify taking any of the other guys out, right?

Also pick one @ WR2: 0.5 PPR. Enunwa, Crowder, or grab a FA (Meredith, Garcon or Lafell)

    I'd go Crowder.

Seriously debating cutting Charles. i currently don't have an active kicker because Tucker is on bye. I don't really wanna cut Gillislee or C Coleman.

I wish I had changed my user name... Prestigious

I'm teetering back and forth. On one hand, Enunwa is facing the Browns and slot WRs have torn them up, but his targets have been going down every week. On the other hand, Crowder has been next to useless when Jordan Reed plays.

Gillislee should be the starter this week but who knows what that means. Common sense says the best way to beat the Patriots D is to spread them out and test their DB depth. The problem there is that the Bills have 3 healthy WR on their roster, and one of them is Brandon Tate who is basically a WR in theory only.

So if the Bills run a 4 wide set, its going to be with Robert Woods as a decoy due to his foot injury, Justin Hunter, Walt Powell and then one of Brandon Tate, Charles Clay or Reggie Bush. That's....less than threatening.

So the Bills will probably do their normal thing and run right into the teeth of the Patriots defense and hope for the best

  25. Moncrief, Crowder or John Brown at flex ?
