The 2010's saw the rise of the cinematic universe, which had only begun to grow in the previous decade but had taken over by the dawn of 2019. Mid-budget films were largely abandoned; you were either a 300 million dollar tentpole that could have action figures or theme park rides, or you were made for a few million dollars with actors taking scale and hoping someone decides to gamble and distribute you. This was also the dawn of streaming, which has had negative and positive impacts but whose long-term outlook remains unknown. Of the ten winners so far, which is your favorite and why?

Spent the decade rekindling the love for movies that my grandmother instilled in me as a youngster. It has been a pleasure learning the craft, history, and impact of the medium while being able to actively go to the theaters every week to see monumental movies. I hope I can look back fondly at this decade and brag to my kids about seeing some of the best shit on opening day.

My personal top ten of the decade from my Letterboxd fwiw--

    The Florida Project
    Moonlight
    First Reformed
    Good Time
    Blade Runner 2049

Get to 64 films however you want. For the first round, break them down into match ups of 8, so 16 films at a go. Open the bracket in the thread for however long you want, to get the winners of each 8 matches, and after 4 waves (2/3 days each), that'll be Round 1.

Then it just repeats for Round 2 with 32 films instead of 64 etc?

Thanks but I think I will just chunk it like George said. I didn't want to flood the front page with 32 threads in round one.
