Especially when it's someone like that, who isn't necessarily central to the "scene" that AbsolutePunk focused on.

You may be the only person ever on the planet to award Rascal Flatts with such a high spot. Is this the album with "Life Is A Highway" on it?
I want an actual award please. lol. no but for real, I have loved them since 2001 but it kinda fizzled out by 2010 album wise. I would still go see them live cause their shows are fun and they always play old songs. and no this isn't the album with "Life is a Highway" on it lol...that would be their album from 2006 "Me and My Gang" which is also a banger of an album!
Ok so I'm not even at the songs that you mentioned as being faves just yet, and I'm certainly not trying to write eloquently about a record you know so well and so personally, but 4 songs in and this is ABSOLUTELY awesome shit. What great songwriting and hooks, truly. How in the hell were "Ride" and "Who You Are" not massive hits?! What a great find. Excited to hear the rest of this. EDIT: Those little synth flourishes in "The Last One" - hell yeah. Really enjoy the balance between ballads and upbeat songs with soaring choruses as you kinda hinted at as well. This album will be added to regular rotation for me.
Honestly, Craig's recommendations have not steered me wrong once. I suppose it comes down to a matter of taste, but this is just straight up great singer-songwriter stuff. Not sure how any true music fan could DISLIKE it. I also need to queue up the Matt Nathanson record from '07. Always loved his hit single but never knew the whole album.
Holy shit I forgot to add that Matt Nathanson record to my list. I adore that album. I remember finding it like right after my car accident in 2007 and was like "this is obviously for me" lol.
haven't revisited this list since 2007 so there's no doubt a few things missing or out of place, but for the most part this is still a kickass list 1. Straylight Run - The Needles The Space 2. Awesome, glad you enjoy it. One of those records I really wish existed on vinyl. The follow up, Under Control from 2010, is very good too.
