Great list as always - just had to quote this as it seems to be a GREAT descriptor of this record. I remember P4K being all over this one AND Strawberry Jam, and I just wasn't quite there for it yet. I loved Merriweather Post Pavilion as most did just 2 years later, but never came back to revisit Person Pitch. I just listened to "Bros", and while I totally agree with the 'dreamy hazy landscape', and think it's super well done ..... I still struggle with 12+ minute "songs". Do y'all just put this kind of stuff on and get lost in it while doing other stuff? Genuine question. In long songs like that I always find myself looking every few minutes to see how much time is left in the track lol

I remember Person Pitch had a ton of hype of like, this sounds like Pet Sounds. And listening to it I do kinda feel like it's like someone challenged Animal Collective to write a Pet Sounds sequel but to be as self indulgent as they wanted and somehow that delivering on almost all the good potential of that concept with very little of the (obvious) potential for disaster in it.
For some reason, one of the best songs on that album was the Best Buy bonus track ("Sleep Walking Elite").
I love Bros! It’s my favorite on the album. It definitely took some time for that one to sink in though, as I was more partial to the other songs for years. But now I think that song is a journey tethered by that acoustic chord progression that swells in the songs peak, engaging me enthralled throughout. When 10+ min songs are done right, they’re momentous, and they achieve it here imo.

SUPER underrated song from 2007 Foos. Especially always loved the tongue-in-cheek title that I feel like referenced all the scene bands that were popular at the time. Of course features great driving drums from Taylor. Wouldn't be any other way. RIP indeed.
2007 was the start of the neon years (All Time Low, The Maine, Mayday Parade, etc) and when that scene just totally stopped connecting with me.
I love the album so much, but never thought that it translated weak to the live format. I saw the tour when it came out and the anniversary and it was just boring both times. It's weird that they never really got the enthusiasm thing down.
Harold Budd - Perhaps Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago Milieu - Remodelled Honourable mentions: Radiohead - In Rainbows Reuben - In Nothing We Trust Machine Head - The Blackening M83 - Digital Shades Vol. 1 Arp - In Light Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero Feeling under the weather so I'm just posting my list sans notes/thoughts.
I don't know why they've always kinda bummed me out live lol. They are definitely a lot less stiff than when I saw them tour Alaska. Everything is so fucking tight. I just want more enthusiasm. Can't knock them given the noodles.
2007 was a harder year to decide than I expected. 1. The White Stripes - Icky Thump 2. Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero 3. Every Time I Die - The Big Dirty Against Me! - New Wave August Burns Red- Messengers The Chariot - The Fiancee Chevelle - Vena Sera Fall Out Boy - Infinity on High Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace Kanye West - Graduation Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight Minus the Bear - Planet of Ice Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank Paramore - Riot! 1. Explosions in the Sky- All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone. 2. Minus The Bear- Planet of Ice. 3. The Weakerthans- Reunion Tour Special shout out to Linkin Park. Lots of hot tracks on Minutes to Midnight
I need everyone to stop posting lists until they listen to Da Drought 3. What is going on in here? It’s like…maybe the most important mixtape of that entire era! A defining piece of 00s hip hop
Every Sunday while blasting "change of heart" by the 1975....Lay on the floor and contemplate life lol.
One of the best metal songs of the modern era. The build up and pay off in the first minute is perfection.
Promise I'll have my list up tomorrow. Work has been batshit crazy and I totally passed out before 9pm last night lol.
